Hi, my computer is making an extremely loud series of short beeps at random intervals and for a random period of time...I don't think it's the computer overheating though, because it will sit here and beep and then quit beeping all of a sudden. It can also occur sporadically and randomly, whether I'm at the Windows startup screen or while playing a game or browsing the internet. Does anyone know the cause or fix for this? |

Well, next time you hear it remember the amount of beeps there were and if they were long or short. The beeps are actually a code which can be used to show where the problem is. Once you get the ammount of beeps, go to a tech support forums (Or even on this thread) and post the amount of beeps and their length. -- Founder - Grand-Games |

If its more than.. I would say 10 beeps, then it's not the code and it's a different issue. -- Founder - Grand-Games |

Actually, the problem is fixed by disconnecting the cords that run top the front panel displays on my case (Temp, HDD, Fan). So it was more than likely a warning or exception raised that caused a beep. -- Try Rebirthe, a Diablo II mod by me. |

well some cases have their speaker unit on the front panel, and by disconecting it, its probably still tryna warn you about something but the speaker isnt working lol =] -- The best work never was and never will be done for money. Everyone who has a computer fancies himself a game designer, just as everyone with a guitar wants to be a rock star. There is nothing wrong with that if you remember that success is a long, hard road. |

it doesn't have a speaker unit, there are three indicators on the front that display HDD, Temp, and fan speed. I have speakers hooked up but they are hooked to the sound card. -- Try Rebirthe, a Diablo II mod by me. |

Make sure that all your hardware is securely connected to your motherboard. I had problems way back when i was a computer newbie lol and found out one of the RAM clips weren't closed making the computer think it was in-use and couldn't read the RAM(the computer checks all ports to make sure if anything is there.) thats the only one i know of lol. -- I can't do much, but i can use
