Hi all

My name is Thomas and I represent the better half (of course my partner would claim the reverse) of a two-man indie software company called Emblem Entertainment. We have been and are developing games and mobile apps, and are currently looking for a 2d artist to join us. The artist would have to be willing so sacrifice at least a couple of hours a week, as well as his/her sanity.

What we are looking for;
A 2d artist (3d a plus) who are able to create both character and environment art. Although the style of each game can vary greatly we somehow seem to get drawn towards cartoony games. Being able to create icons and pixelsharp art would be awesome.

I would also like to underline that we are only looking for one person. We do not want to recruit lots of people and have them do a few thing for us, then leave. We are looking for someone who could picture themselves doing this for a while.

What we are, what we are not and how we work;
We are two guys who love making games and have a great passion for it. One with a masters degree in it, the other armed with nothing but passion and persistance. We are both in our mid/late twenties, living at the opposite sides of the planet (Norway/Australia). Because of this our means of communication is of course digital, more specifically MSN, private forum and the occational email. We are not planning to make the next Call of Duty clone, but rather produce simpler casual games that is fun to play and fun to make. Who knows, maybe we'll make the next Angry Birds?

Our main platform is our in-house engine called Echo, but we also have full lisence to Unity 3 (and are currently making a game in it). The artist do not need to own a Pro license to Unity.

The main idea is to have fun making games, and if that is your motivation then you will fit right in. Any potential cash (our treasury department is currently unemployed) we make will go back into the company, meaning hosting and freelance work for our next game. In the fortunate event that we accidentally strike gold cuts will be made. This is currently managed on a friendship type of level, but should you require a contract then it will be provided.

If you would like to know more about what we do, or if this already sounds interesting, laidback and fun enough for your then please contact me at alienchild(at)gmail(dot)com. Please provide some example work or a link to your portfolio.
