In Short
Distant Hope is a new ambitious Source engine mod based around late World War III or an immediate post-nuclear-apocalyptic situation, the plans are to include large scale urban and country-side maps.

Introduction
Death came swiftly on wings of night. The crisis and conflict that sent the first ICBM roaring into the sky is now lost to science, but one was all it took. Defense networks were triggered, automated systems kicked in, and before the first night of World War III was over, most of mankind’s population centers, army bases and supplies vanished in a thousand flashes of light, silent and surgical.

There was no deployment, no strategy, no engagements. Missiles of chemical, fusion and fission technologies wiped most of mankind clean off the map. The survivors woke to a world in ruins, with most infrastructures gone, no governments, no standing armies, no direction. World War III was both the shortest and longest war in the history of warfare: it was over in hours, and yet ten years later, we are still fighting in its throes, lost and broken, our very days a struggle for survival, a human race where the victors get to live to fight on another day. Our one, distant hope, is to fight hard enough and long enough that a bite is taken out of the chaos that our world has become, so that we can sit and rest for a day... one single day without bloodshed and violence.

Positions to be filled
Distant Hope, is looking for talented, experienced (with the source engine) modelers to fill the roles of character modeler, prop modeler, weapon modelers, and level designers (you can fall under any, or all categories).

The criteria for applying are as follows

Modelers
- Previous experience modeling and handling the Source engine and/or Source SDK.
- Experience and knowledge of a Source engine supported modeling application (Maya, 3dsmax, Softimage|XSI, or other supported modeling applications) is required.
- Skinning/texturing is not a necessity but a plus.
- Ability to model weapons or humans to proper proportions and scale is required.
- Must be able to work in a team and provide input when asked as well as take criticism to improve upon your work.
- Must be able to provide examples of your previous work with the source engine.

Level Designers
- Must be able to work from concept artists work
- Should have previous mapping experience
- Must have experience in Valve's Hammer Editor
- Must be able to create maps/levels on a very large scale
- Must be able to work in a team and provide input when asked as well as take criticism to improve upon your work.
- Must be able to provide examples of your previous work with the source engine.

Our team currently consists mostly of coders, so we do have a-lot done with the logic and game-rules of the game. But now we need some artists to help us get to the next stage of development .
