Hi guys,

So I am still conceptualising the game and soon to start developing it with LibGDX( A Java 2D library). It will be 2D yes. So I am asking you guys if this game is a great idea actually. First I will be developing it on Desktop then I may expand to android.

Introductions:
It is set in Modern South-East Asia. Inspired by civilisation and Total War. You control a country (Any Country), choose laws, projects and military procurements. Based on what kind of difficulty you picked, you will be given a set of countries. Maybe easy: Gives you a country which is an economic and military power.

Gameplay:
Like total war, it will have war mechanics, THOUGH you won't see armies fight. You need to develop an army with good equipments and a general. And of course, there would be mini-games for each battlefield: Ex. Naval may include a ship and you have to dodge rocks/ships and shoot them. There WILL BE DIPLOMACY, which you will be able to create, disputes, solve via resolutions, alliances and WAR. Now for economy, you will be able to create projects that will boast your economy: Ex. Schools will generate generals or businessman to create more corporation which will allow others to invest in your country, hence creating profit . Researches are also going to be in but needs certain buildings for certain researches.

Victiories:
There will be 3 Military(Destroy the enemy nation), Diplomacy(Solve all your disputes through diplomacy), Economic(Remove all your disputes by making enemies think you are important to their economy)

So guys what do you think? Is it a good idea? I really want to know your opinions! If you want to help out (No pay sorry!) please tell me what you can do by emailing me: juliusgambe@yahoo.com.sg

Thanks!

It is an interesting Idea. I always like simulators and especially the ones that are big in scale and have multiple aspects (Economy, Military Strategy, Diplomacy e.t.c.). But don't forget that there are already simulators that have pretty much the same concept with this one (Control everything in a Nation). Not trying to discourage you to make it but I always believe that Projects have to be 100% unique so they can have a chance to gain popularity. If you want we can have a chat on Skype to talk about details and maybe I will be able to help somehow. :D
