Diablo: War in Hell mod idea. Thread

My idea is make a mod half-life 2 (or anohter mod good for this) that is a battlefield syle mod with many rpg aspects.

The game will be like this. When you enter in the game you will able to choose to be the monsters or the humans.

- If you choose the humans, then you need to choose your class,

- After you choose your class you have to put your stats and skills like in the Diablo 2 [the characters will start at lvl 50 (this can be changed)],

-Then you will have to choose your equipament [every equipament will be balanced to each other and to characeter lvl ( there will be at least one type of each weapon and armor (one maul, one spear, ....) or more and they will be balanced to each other)]

-Now you can go to battle and go fight against the monsters using your weapons and skills (the damage of magic and magery will be the same of the game)

If you choose the monsters you will able to choose monsters that are balanced to the characters levels [you will be able to choose a monster that is not balanced to the humans levels and if you do this, the amount of monster that you choose that will respawn will be the amount needed to this group be balanced to the human lvl (for example 2 monsters= human lvl 50 (you will control one monsters and bots will control the others, the score of bots will go to your score, and if they die they will not enter again until a player choose anothet monsters that is not balanced and need to be many to be balanced, if you die and choose another monsters before the bots monsters die, they will not leave the will stay until death, and new bots will enter) ]

A FPS shooter of Diablo for HL2 would be very cool. SP only I woudl imagine.

Just the name of the game???? The other names and aspects can remain the same?????

This is a idea, I am not a mod maker, i dont know to make mods. If you want to use this idea just post here. And in credits of the game, just put, Original Idea: Exdeath

you could use creatures that look similar just use original names for them. i think the idea could be pretty cool

This idea sounds cool. I'd like to see how you would go about it. By the way, you may want to slow down the blinking on your sig Pancitcooker. It keeps catching my attention and I can't stop looking at it.

As i said i am not doing this because I dont know how to mod, if you want to do this just post here, and add my name in the mod credits (ORIGINAL IDEA: Exdeath)

the probability that someone is just going to start this mod off you posting here is slim, your going to need to put together a design doc and try to get someone to help you, there are a lot of mod leaders out there with no actual modding skills but they keep things going, alot of those fail, but some do make it. so if you want to see it take action.

Yeah put more thought into it and try to get a team together. Nobody wants to make a mod for you.

it would also be cool to make a diablo mod out of the kotor2 engine or something. mainly because there's already a fighting engine in place there, you could modify it so that the damage was based upon your skill level or something.

it would be kinda neat to actually kill the monsters in hand to hand combat as opposed to just clicking rapidly upon them... although hordes would be a pain i imagine

i think lots of engines it would be fun, i think games like diablo and warcraft would be fun in first person, just things like warcraft would need lots of npcs but it would be fun.

do any of youno any hacks to get items on diablo 2 lord of destruction

why HL2? see, the game mechanics of a FPS doesnt really like close qwarters combat. but if you make it 3rd person, it might work. otherwise, it will be counterstrike, with knives only, on a hugeass map.

so try rethinking the whole idea.

I will not do this, this is only a idea, if you want you can make this mod for the engine that you want.

This idea is good. I've started a mod for Half-Life 2 (will soon add it to ModDB), called Veama: The last war.

Story:

Veama: The last war

The world, that once was filled with glory, is falling. The times have come when brave heroes are fighting for the lands of Veama. Evil beast’s is spread all over the lands and the remaining humans have taken cover in the last fortress of light.
This is my, Geshafar’s, story of the great tale.

Hakanfar, the last dark wizard, stumbled across a great mountain when he was searching after the Holy Orb. He walked up to the top and saw a angel. The angel told him that he should stop the search after the Holy Orb, but Hakanfar didn’t listen. The greed had conquered his mind. The angel flied away and Hakanfar continued the search.
After he had been walking over the great deserts of Sazenon, fighting in the jungles of Tahlex, he came to a temple. Everything were dark and cold, but all Hakanfar was thinking about was greed.
The dark wizard walked into the temple. The temple was made of stone, and by the walls, old, rusty armours from the Seven were standing.
When Hakanfar had been walking for a long time, he finally came to a room. That was the room of the Dark Force. Dark wizards had been living there for thousands of years, but not anymore. The good were almost winning the war against the evil.
Hakanfar walked into the room. In the middle of the room an orb were standing on an amazing table made of gold and diamonds. Hakanfar walked towards the Holy Orb and took it. He starred at it and in his eyes, there was only greed.
Then, the room started to shake. Hakanfar had made an unstable balance in the room when he took the orb.
The stone bricks in the ceiling were falling, but Hakanfar just stood there and looked at the orb. He died imediatly, but the orb rolled out of the temple.

I was very young back then. My grand father was learning me the art of fighting, when we suddenly heard a screaming voice. A lady was hunted by a man. But this was not a normal man. He smelled rotten and only had one arm. The other arm was haning at his side.
My grand father ran towards the man. He was very brave.
He took his sword and started to fight with the man, but he bite my grand father. I heard a scream and then he died. It happened so fast.
I took my bow and shot some arrows at the zombie, as we call them now. After ten arrows he was still alive. That was unbelievable. I took a stone from the ground and threw it at him.
It hit his skull and broke it. He was gone. And my grand father too. He was the bravest man in the world.

After that day, people were scared. Everyone were staying at home, besides the hunters.
We needed food. Many left, and few came back. They were telling stories about beast’s, hiding in the dark.

One day, a knight came to our village. He said that we should travel to the great city of Fenvarga. We organized a caravan and started the journey.
I don’t want to describe what really happened out there. It’s too sad.
I can just say that we were overrun by creatures. Most of us died, but I was luckily enough to be able to manage a horse and ride away from that terrible place. I can still remember my friends screaming.
When I came to Fenvarga, I was welcomed by the king and the knights. That was one of the best moments of my life.
I lived in Fenvarga for a long time, but I left about a year ago. I wanted to fight the beast’s that killed my brothers and sisters.
I managed a group of men and women started the adventure.

The beast’s must be stopped. Our only hope is that you, my brothers and sisters, will help me. So, let’s get up and move. It’s getting dark...
