I'm hoping that I'm posting in the correct place here, this is my first post on this forum.
Please let me know if I'm wrong but, Is this where the 'New Vision' MOD was made/developed? I sure hope so, cause if so I'd love to say how awesome ya'll did on the game.
Secondly, ( this being probably something that went wrong on my end ) I finally reached a point in the game where I believe I may have a corrupted file/s. For those of you who may be familiar with the ORIGINAL Dues Ex game. I'm at the point now where I've been captured and am in that holding cell. Some guy pops up and says he needs me to escape and unlocks the door for me. <-- So far so good.
But just as soon as I walk out of the cell, I get about 4 seconds before I suddenly get 'stuck' <-- cant move, can't even exit the game. The game doesnt freeze entirely but I'm still CRASHED.
Something else I've noticed when this is happening is that sometimes I can see what appears to be a 'blob' trying to form or something. It's pretty obvious that at this point the game is crashing and trying to load or create an object from corrupted data or something. Its hard for me to explain exactly what's happening, I'm not a MODer or coder or anything close to it. Just a guy who was loving the crap out of this game lol!
Anyhow, I'm hoping that I'm in the correct area to find a solution. Assuming that I do have a corrupted file ( I suspect it may have come from the fact that I had to pause my download several times and that somewhere along the lines one or more files just didn't make the cut ) My hope/question is this. Does anybody have some suggestions as to what i can do to correct this? I'd hate to have to re-download the entire game, cause I'd probably still need to pause it several times again and I fear that the same thing would happen again. I'm wondering if its possible to get the files I need for that mission level by them selves.
If I DO have to re-install and possibly even re-download the whole game again. Does anyone know which files I'd need to back up so I wouldn't have to play the game all the way through again just to get back to where I've left off?
Well, I certainly thank you in advance for any help or suggestions ya'll might have. For one I just want to play/finish the game. But at the same time I'm simply just curious about the mechanics of how everything works and goes together.
