Darwinia - The Best Game Nobody Knows. Thread

Let's cut the chase (mainly because I want to get back to Darwinia). Darwinia is one of the best games I have ever played. It was developed by 4 guys, independantly. What does that say about the gaming industry? A lot..

I don't want to spend particularly much time describing the game, not only because I don't feel like spending an hour that could be spent fighting evil malignant viruses, but more importantly, because Darwinia defies any adjective, grouping, genre, or cliche in the Gaming industry, besides perhaps "pure innovation". I cannot think of one single genre that it fits to. I'd say it's somewhat like a squad-based tactical real time strategy roleplaying game, in a TRON-esque environment, though that does not quite do it justice.

there is a demo out (came out a while ago, actually, i knew ;-) )

it is a GREAT game, but if you like face-paced at all...

I did try the demo a month or two ago, it felt like Myth 2, heh

yeah they really sucked

Completed the demo when it was released, interesting, but gets boring after a while. Their previous game, Uplink, was hell of a lot better.

Actually, there are a few mods for it! Mainly minor conversions, but check the game's forums for a complete idea of what kind of mods are being made for it.

i pwnd at uplink, but its so noobishly easy. they should of said the storyline was that you were a script kiddy with no talent i dont remem,be rhavin to write any code, i just downloaded my hacking skills

introversion are great guys they made 2 cool games darwinia and uplink both these game are awesome

and i put them on the underdog thread a few days ago

I love and own, both of the games, darwina and uplink...

It shows you what 4 guys can do when not pressured by some big company to release the game, they did because they love to devolop games...and the profit for making awsome games such as uplink...
