CONTEST: Free Hooded Sweatshirt! Thread

Want to win a free hooded sweatshirt? The rules are simple. You merely have to come up with a clever design and be better than everyone else. And all you have to do is abide by a few guidelines:

• The background color must be black
• A maximum of two different colors may be used, these two colors can be any variant of gold, yellow, or purple (school colors)
• The design must be in line art from
• You have to come up with something original
• It MUST be school apporpriate

If you follow these little guidelines, this should be easy, but now for the theme. This sweatshirt will be used for my high school's boy's swimming team (and a quite good one also, top 3 in the state for the last 5 years). The design must be relating to swimming in some way, shape, or form. And the school's mascot is the Viking (not necessary to be in the design, because the school logo will be printed on the back). And here is the final thing that must be included in your design-it must say "Puyallup High School" "Boys Swimming and Diving" "2003-2004" in it somewhere. These do not have to be together in one location, but must be included in the design.

As for sizing, the design's need to be not larger than a 12"x12" box, but i actuallity, will be closer to 12" wide and 6" high. The actual design needs to be saved somewhere in a loss-less format, but should be posted in smaller versions to the web site (to keep from killing any more of modDB's bandwidth than we have to ).

The top 3 finalists (picked by my co-captain and myself) will have their designs taken to the swim team's preseason meeting, and voted upon there. The winner will have his/her design featured on our sweatshirts, and a sweatshirt also with his/her design on it mailed to them, free of charge.

Deadline for all entries will be around the middle of October. Until the pre-season meeting is determined, I cannot say exactly when this shall be, but I would assume that this would provide sufficient time.

Any questions, comments, special share, or entries shall be submitted to this page, or emailed to ghana_a at hotmail dot com. Remember, entries must be large enough to fit on a sweatshirt front, so 50x50 pixel entries will not be counted :

I will attempt to scan some older logos if possible... and if anyone want to do a logo for the back-which would require a viking-they are welcome to it, but this contest is merely for the front design.

I guess i could also try and take pictures of them...

It also would be greatly appreciated if anyone who is planning on taking part in this contest announce their intentions in this thread, so we have some clue as to the amount of parcipitants/entries we may receive.

Im not good with designs so im out sorry

I should point out that the designs should be saved in a loss-less setting, such as .bmp, .tga, or .png. .jpg should be avoided mainly because of the color blurring, which would make it hard for me to use without fixing it up myself, which partially defeats the purpose.

I need to remind everyone, that when i mean line art, this means NO GRADIENTS... the more complex the design (as in artwork, not idea) that more it costs to set up the screens, as these will be silk screened... which sorta makes watermarks hard to do

One other thing, you do not need to include a viking on the front, unless you want to, as it will be on the back... (though if someone comes up with a really cool front and back design, it will need a viking somewhere )
