I'm not so great with abstract or environments so I don't think I could come up with anything worthwhile |

Might be things like what 56k demo writers tend to do. Colorful combination of irregular shapes floating around screens. Definitely not my domain since I have a hard time to do abstract art in any form but I dig what 56k guys build up there ( since algorithmic programming favors such images ). |

Im gonna remake my entry into a wallpaper for people to download, and suggest everyone else who can to do the same. Put this in the downloads section on ModDB, and more fun will come out of the competition than just computers for two lucky sons of.. i mean artists. -- |

I've actually got a great idea to showcase all of this work (properly) once the comp is over. Should look great and be easier for everyone to browse and checkout. |

Haha, 8 hours late (no problem for me), congrats to the persons who won, no way I could be one of them. It was fun to be able to finish a painting within the deadline, more specific 16h. My first painting and all, didn't go in and expecting to win, just was racing against the clock. I'm just happy I made it in to the comp, couldn't have asked for more. Personally I liked that samurai warlord the most in terms of execution. But there was a alot of good concept art pieces which makes it more difficult because the important in concept art is not the painting skill, but the concept idea behind. Merging those together makes you a concept artist. Peoples choice wont be the best concept art but the most dramatic picture of them, the art institute will most likely pick the best concept art. Hopefully. Mine was the space opera thing with the crazy crabthingys (with the glowing gas tails) on some distant planet fighting against humans who are there to rob the planet's natural resources. Poor composition and a bit too far away from the action, a very diplomatic observation of the fight, not choosing side. Booooring in other words, hah. I'll do better next time. Bye.
