Hey, so too start off with this mod is only a VERY rough sketch in my mind. I am posting this to see gauge the level of interest in my mod, and see if I would actually be able to assemble a mod team.

So the mod will be a mod for Company of Heroes. It will be based somewhere in modern day Africa. The conflict will be between US forces and local African guerrilla fighters. My main sources of inspiration are the movies 'Black Hawk Down' and 'Blood Diamond'. This is the kind of conflict that I want to capture in my mod.

The African forces will be mostly infantry based but have access to some light vehicles, such as a a ute with a Machine Gun or Rocket Launcher attached. This is to symbolise the guerrilla and hurried nature of their warfare. They will be allowed more infantry on the field than the US forces and every infantry squad will be able to access weapon upgrades.

The US forces will have better trained, equipped soldiers and vehicles so they will always be outnumbered. There will be no tanks at all. This is mostly for balance issues, but there will definitely be things like APC's light vehicles and the likes. They will have access to air support but only very light amounts.

Other than these plans nothing else has really formed. I dont want to try and create a huge description to hire a team with just in case it does not take off.

So basically I am searching for an entire team. I am a writer and a very average mapper so I do need alot of help getting this mod together. Please send me a message with some of your work if you would like to join me.

The main spots I need filled ASAP are:
Modeler/Texturer
Coder
Mapper
2nd Writer

Thankyou for reading my quick description and hope to hear from some people soon. :D

Replace USA with UN and you might have a more solid concept.

I like the concept. Why do you need a second writer? Is the plot not detailed?

dbest, I have no completely hammered out the whole story yet, but I am planning to write the whole thing. But It would be great to have a second writer on board who I can throw around ideas with. If you could please send me some of your previous stories or articles that would be great. Hope to hear from you soon.

No, Replace the US with NATO, ISAF or something.

I will probably be keeping the US as the faction because it is based of Operation Gothic Dragon, also known as the conflict in Somalia. The UN will probably be a second faction. Because both these groups fought in Somalia at the time, they will both feature as factions.

Like I said UN is better. It suits the scene (unlike NATO) That and it's set

Someone wrote: somewhere in modern day Africa

so UN makes more sense if its not geologically tied down.

and TBH I'm a little sick of AMERIKA'S ARMEEE in every single game concpet. They ain't the best. And it's getting old :)

I do like the concept though. It could play out alot like the classical GDI v.s Nod model. One strong but slow and numerically small faction (UN) faced with one weak but cunning and numerous faction (Africa warbands). While I know you said no tanks at all. Maybe they could be used as "superweapons" like the Tiger in the original COH. E.g UN could field an Abram while the warbands could get two monkey model T-72s.
