As a fellow mod leader, my greatest suggestion would be to learn to code. I've led 4 projects myself and I learned to code first. In addition to that, do not use the "we need you" attitude. Always lean towards (indirectly) "you need us" and be prepared to say no to anyone... or be prepared to do it yourself. ***You can also post in forums (hl2coding, hl2world, hlfallout, ect.) for hl2 help |

I think there are a fair number of coders lurking here. But, you are going to have to come up with something that looks interesting and seems do-able. You have single player, a variety of multi-player game types and co-op. That seriously stretches the do-ability, especially considering the mod team you have. I code, but I have no interest in HL2 mods; there are just way too many of them. Statistically, over 90% of announced mods are never finished. That means for HL2, about 400 of them aren't going to make it. Makes picking the ones that will kind of iffy. |
