Hello everybody!

I'm Antoine, also known as Taldoran on this website. I'm a regular student but also a game developper on my free time, and today I want to present you a demo I originally made for the Experimental Gameplay Workshop in one month, Cloud Of Souls.

THE PLOT

In Cloud Of Souls, you are one of the many souls trapped inside a human body. Your goal is to cooperate and go on a quest to get back your freedom.

GAMEPLAY

The gameplay can be resume by "a mix between Zelda and Twitch Play Pokemon". Yes, you got it right, each player control the same entity and have to cooperate in this online multiplayer game.

In details, the gameplay is separeted in 2 forms:

  • Global mechanics like moving and jumping are applied to the main character. For example, when the character move, it's the average of all the directions given by the souls.
  • Individual mechanics like attacking and using an item, which are done by each soul on their own.

The game also features a persistent chat. This is intendent to help player which come in the middle of the game. The players can use it as to discuss, or write notes on the progression and what to do next.

Basically, the goal of the player is to find a way to go from a total chaos to a well oiled machine where everyone knows what he has to do.

DEMO OF THE GAME

It can feature some bugs which you can report to me if you want.

FEEDBACKS
I'll be reading your feedbacks, and I also have some questions:

  • What do you think I should try to improve?
  • What do you like/dislike about the game?
  • Should I try to make a full length game? Will you be willing to pay for it when it will be finished ?

Anyway, thank you for reading, sorry for the spelling mistake (English isn't my native language) and have a great day!
