That looks really nice Is this mod going to be cell-shaded, because it sure appears that way through the renders...

Nope there just un skinned models. The skinned models will look like that but with a small amount of aging and wear.

i think you should make it cellshaded that would be cool and give it an original feel compared to other racers. And then for explosions you could have the words BOOM! coming out of them(sorry i have an obsession with old school batman)

I have planed to put a Old style mini in the mod. I have since found a model of a new mini I made last year. The question is, should I have both the old mini & new mini in the mod?

new mini, the old mini has not been made yet .

ok now seeing that mini you MUST do a cell shaded mod, the cars are far too cartoony and yes make an old mini as well but make it yellow with a black roof

no give it a union jack roof like a proper original, and it needs to be driven by a crazy brit

brits are probably the best drivers in europe....

from personal experience from travelling/living in continental europpe

French:Wont stop ever will always try to stay above the speed limit when they can
Italians: Use the horn like a weapon and drive like mad men
Swiss:Drive slow like old ladys....because they are.
Brits:Can't really give it a stereotype

yeah, i wouldnt say were good drivers but compared to most of the other countries we look pretty good.
the germans are better than us actually, when i stayed there the one thing which really stuck in my mind was driving on the autobahn because it was so damn terrifying, but yet everyone drove so well. i guess it was the fact no one wanted to drop much below 200Kph that scared me.

Well I have made a bit of progress . Got my first ever test model & skin into HL2. Alas at the moment only as a static prop.

Also heres a quick wip on a skin. I am still playing around trying to decide what style to make the skins. Ie more realism etc.

i say that you should give it a cartoony feel to it

keep the light colours and make the maps light as well

so far the only mods for HL2 are dark and serious

you should make this a light-hearted fun mod

I am certainly going for fun. There is a definte element of tounge in cheek .

Yah the way it looks now is great

its reminds me of a mix of carmageddon (loved the original, one of the first games i really got into) and interstate 76 which makes me feel naseaus just thinking of it.

it looks really good, i cant wait to see some more shots

Well im glad it looks like interstate 76 and carmagedon. They are the two big influences for the mod .

then youve already got one fan right here

are you going to able to run people over though?

The plan is to let drivers get out of there cars and into other cars. You will only have a crappy weapon, which will only be any good at killing other drivers who our out of their cars. Of course when you are running around on foot, its highly likely you will be run over my somebody else .

You should put a short bus in there!

Started playing around making a basic player model today. I am still not sure about the style, I might try and make it a bit more realistic.

I am wanting to have a few other "stylised" player models. If anybody has any good sugestions do say so I can consider making them .

you need all the cliche characters, so a hot woman, a fat man etc etc
are you aiming for carmageddon style comedy characters? or just normalish ones
