I have a VISTA laptop and I just bought Deus Ex Complete today.

However the installation of Deus Ex 1 stopped when it was uncompressing the files in the very last bit of
the installing process.

I was just about to consider taking it back but I wonder if there's a way to fix it, get it to finally
work on my computer.

Have you tried running the setup in compatibility mode? Something like Win2k or even Win9x might work since this game is rather old.
