Snowball mod, been there seen that. Of course if you can throw stuff like jars of acid, knives, bricks, etc. that you pickup. That might be kind of cool. -- 1.7ghz P4

This isn't some new mod been around for a while using First Person Shooter as the category, nor is it a snowball mod Anyway ability to fill in a category yourself would be pretty good, after all new mods and indie games could be making up new categories all the time. Although having the default list around is fine too, but a others option would be nice where you fill it in yourself. Edited by: DuckSauce |

Surely you still want to be categorised as a FPS, so people looking for something FPS-ish will see your mod in the results. There's these wonderful things called 'description' and 'summary' that let you tell the world what makes your mod different and special -- "lets say Portal is a puzzle game, so its a rehash of Tetris" |

I suppose, it doesn't feel right to me though |

Well either way your mod wouldn't fit into that Other category. Your mod is still an FPS. It is in first person view; and it is a shooter. Throwing something is considered shooting... (and not only in the video game world; look up the definition of shoot) Edited by: ngs616 |

Yeah yeah, can we drop that subject please? Now about the idea for just mere a others category, really I think it'd be good for those truly innovative mods and games that won't fall in any existing category. P.S I guess throwing has become considering shooting since people started throwing shoes at Bush? C'mon, you'd have to throw shoes really fast for it to be considered shooting somebody. No, throwing has been considered shooting since as long as the word has been around. Can we drop the subject? Isn't that what this thread is about? But i agree, an other category might not be a bad idea. Edited by: ngs616 |

The thread is about a new category, not necessarily a First Person Thrower category. The title of the thread is that, the content of the thread is not. I suppose swinging swords around is also shooting? Because to my knowledge melee heavy games don't have their own category either, while most if not all have at least one weapon that can shoot(mostly bows) it's still something I don't consider an FPS and wouldn't look for under an FPS if were looking for melee fighting games/mods. |

NO! ...you seriously don't understand? Or are you trying to get on my nerves? Using your arm to drive forth and release an object (throwing) is still considered shooting. Edit: good work on your mod by the way. (i'm not being sarcastic) Edited by: ngs616 |

Damned fools... They're all Doom clones! How about, option to allow someone to write their own category? Of course then if someone searchs for Doom clones, then your mod could stay hidden, since they weren't looking for Second Person Thrower Launcher game... Edited by: Jimi |
