Basically there should be a place on the site where you can talk to fellow modders or in general guests,

If you look at some games like Age of Mythology online lobby then you'll see that you can talk to alot of people at the same time, very useful for setting up matches.

This feature would be great! Could also provide a place for people get help faster and reporting bad links better.

...you mean like an IM?

yeah probebly... but built into the site, where you can freely talk to people rather then have to get there email adresses then invite them in all in and all that stuff, its a lot of bother when you just need a little help.

Of course the emails would have to have a privacy option.

This is already something Scott tried and the response from moddb users was absent. Either everyone refuses to download a client, open an IRC, or launch a java based chat. Too many times we've had this before and noone ever got on to talk to each other. Communication is short and brief on the forums to begin with.

Yes, I am that old I remember moddb's old features you're suggesting. ;)

You know, I remember those things too.

Personally I never even found them. I believe I stumbled upon them once, but thats about it. :(
