Hello everyone!
My name is Vitaliy and I’m trying to make some quality video games with my friends. The initial idea was 2D space sim rougelike. I worked with programmer, composer and graphic artist. On pure enthusiasm alone we managed to make playable prototype. But enthusiasm, doesn't work well for artists and those usually left. I tried to contact indie publishers, but they referred to our game as being too raw. So we decided to adapt and move on.
We tried to start a new project, simplify it in terms of gameplay and graphics, but still struggled to find a working artist.
Time passed and we were heavily influenced by VA-11 HALL-A and The Last Nights, so we decided to add similar features to concept of initial game. I contacted hundreds of artists once again and found one girl who really liked our idea. But she still needs living expenses covered and unless we get a budget she won't be able to work with us. So I started a small crowdfunding campaign Igg.me . The goal of it is just to get enough funds to draw new trailer featuring all our gameplay elements and maybe even a small demo. That kind of content could be sent to all media and have something for potential players to check out.
But my small crowdfunding campaign is going nowhere. General feedback I'm getting is about outdated and boring looks of gameplay part which we got from initial idea, but everyone likes waifu and visual novel part. But because it resembles old gameplay nobody really wants to support us. I also don't have any marketing skills and don't know what to do next, it looks like it's all over for us.
