Hmm, it seems to be the documentary on which was based the program I watched on a French channel, TV5 Monde. To be short about this: antiques are smuggled out of Afghanistan, then transported to rich countries.

Police officers can do nothing about it, because they aren't experts in the antique art, especially the one coming from countries such as Afghanistan, and calling in specialised people takes much time.

would make a good game.

You play as a Deep undercover afghan police officer. You attend all the fancy balls for the rich european jerks who have been stealing your country's priceless artifacts. You sip their champagne, screw their women, and bid on your own national treasures. Finally, you try to arrest everyone, and a shootout occurs. You win hands down.

Your characters name would be : Jihames Bonda

Do it.

There's nothing funny about the theft of antiquities from a developing nation, Feillyne.
Nothing even remotely funny.

No, it isn't. Well, to be sincere, it's commonplace. As was the theft and robbery of European nations by the Third Reich during the WW. It's always the same when a war is ongoing.

But what saddens me, truly, is that rich countries don't regulate and supervise closely wares coming from such countries as Afghanistan. They could to that... they could have decency to do something.

Yes, that's a good point - at least better than stopping smuggling and leaving them to their destruction... on the other hand, they could not find themselves in the hands of rich people, but rather hidden/stashed by the gov't (it should be known publicly where they are, so as to maintain some transparency - the gov't can smuggle something too ;-]).

I'm not viewing the video so are you speaking specifically about antiques in this thread or also religious artifacts ? Antiques are one thing, but a trade in the other is a whole different breed of pathetic.

It depends on what you mean by 'religious'. But I think they smuggle 'religious' artifacts too:

Yup. That's what I meant. Artifacts relating more to a cultures social and religious evolution.
