Blender 2.36 was just released early this morning. Mainly just a bug-fix release. But it still has several cool new features such as: Normal map support :)

Shadow, does that mean it can make normal maps?

You can manually make them. But it only works for flat surfaces. Though you can also just unwrap the mesh if it's a character or something, but that's incrediably tedious, and inaccurate.

why should it have no more updates? this is blender, an open source application, not windumb, closed source crap. the point IS that the app keeps evolving.

depends on what you call easy. personally i consider blenders animation features damn powerfull. but like the rest of blender you need to learn it to unleash it's full power.

I need to learn blender. I'll just buy a book. Probally when i learn it, i will use it all the time. I tried just messing around with it.

Ya the Blender Foundation released the Blender 2.3 guide early 2004. 768 pages of how to use blender :D I was one of the first 250 people to purchase one, so I got a copy signed by Ton Roosendall.

It's a python script, so make sure you have python fully installed and working. If you still have probs, you can find a full list here: Download.blender.org

i got python working, as
1) i'm on linux-gentoo ;)
2) i'm using my own python export script for my model format.

there's been something once... but i guess blender always wants to use Lynx (ARG!!!) to show the page and locks up if not run from console. ^_^
