I just watched that movie Akira again now i am addicted to this idea i had for maybe HL2.

You'd just start out with a regular bike and some mediocre armor, and then constantly upgrade them the more you played, kind of like COD4 how you level up and unlock new shit. I mean as far as bikes go you can have like 100's of mods and stuff you can put on them and customizations just like weapons too, like chainsaws rofl.

I dunno, seems cool to me :-D

im sure other people will post more, but off the top of my head, that seems like hl2 would be a horrible engine for it. UT3 would be much better since it already has vehicles in multiplayer
