Bid For Power (in it's original incarnation at least) The rest were just jealous hyped-from-BFP followers for different engines (and often fall short) -- < insert subject games here >

I dunno guys, you have to respect a mod like ESF that has literally hundreds of brand new animations for a relatively original melee system... for an FPS released 5 years ago. -- Pez says: |

No, you don't have to respect it. You don't have to respect it at all. -- Defeat in Detail 2 - Standalone RTS Game |

Ok... so with all the "big ideas" that come through here and don't get made a group basically redid the HL engine to make not only a DBZ mod, but great one with hundreds of hours of work put into it. Just because you don't like the source material doesn't justify your attitude towards it. I'm not a DBZ fan but I'm impressed at the time and effort and ultimate conclusion of what has come about as a result of the 2 afformentioned traits for a first person shooter no less. -- Pez says: |

ESF and BFP are perhaps the only two anime mods that are any good on Moddb. The rest are either trying too hard, not trying enough, or just aren't up to par with them. -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |

Didnt BFP get shut down. --

Yes some time ago and then was remade with DBZ-ish characters that while slightly resembling DBZ characters weren't exact rips like before. The model pack to put them back the way they were is still floating around somewhere in the bowels of the internet. -- Pez says: |

BFP is origonal, in the sense that it was one of the first. After that, millions started to spawn out of no where and it started getting old and annoying to look at. However, ESF was more successful, in that the project wasn't shut down and its updated regularily. |

actually, DBQFA was the absolute first, predating back in 1997. The Cell/Namek saga wasn't airing on american TV then, and there was no other DBZ mod since until BFP, so it went largely unnoticed. And the mod is shite anyhow -- < insert subject games here >

As well as having a more advanced system of gameplay including melee and an RPG-esque transformation system, better graphics, ect ect ect EDIT: And Cheapalert, I believe there was even a doom DBZ mod predating that. Edited by (in order): Chaossaber314, Chaossaber314 -- Pez says: |

It was sounds only. I'm talking about actual gameplay changes. -- < insert subject games here >

Not the one I played. The one I played replaced spites as well as sounds so that your weapons became different signature attacks and the lesser enemies became lesser DBZ villains while the boss monsters became the more well known villains. -- Pez says: |
