uh...guys
in all sencerity, I think we are being way too hard on dbz mods, constantly berrating down on them. I think we should just let the mods go, not flame them, but instead, maybe just not comment at all.
if you dont have anything nice to say about their mod
dont say anything
i mean, we have people who put
DBZ modders suck in their sigs!
and then people that ravage DBZ mods alot
and spam and flame their topics.
can we cool it?

i think dbz mods are ok, well dragon mod z just sucks complete ass.. but earths special forces, that rocks, you need skill to stay and fight in the air, its fast, its quick, you need to be quick, its challenging its a good game, blasts everywhere people fucking zooming past you and pushing you miles into the air its fucking great and exciting, i casnt see why you diss that just becuase the tv show is pathetic. ;(

If a DBZ mod is original, like ESF was, then we leave it alone.

If a DBZ mod is made by 10 year olds who cannot mod and insist on persistant boasting about their 'new' power system, then we get annoyed

The cartoon is bad itself. I mean, who would want to make a mod about blonde spikyhaired boys doing an orgasm?

Plus, Funimation is quite dire with lawsuits, and I don't want to get involved in ANY of them. The disclaimers don't help, since you are still using their intellectual property.

ESF original? How could that be, if they're doing the same DBZ stuff?

I don't like ANY of these DBZ mods, they all are pretty much taking the piss - every one of them. They're banned here and there all over the 'net.

so because its based on a tv show that makes it completely unoriginal? so if i were to go out and make another "run around shooting terrorists" mod then i would be original?

plus i dont think you understand how much effort goes into these mods. i mean most mods have some new weapons, some new sounds maybe? and probably some decent maps but are for the most part just the same as before. whereas dbz games include alot of changes suck as flight, all new attacks, alot more detailed animations, and much more complex melee systems than just stab stab stab.

Shooting terrorists is much better than shooting excuses at the Funimation Lawyers.

Effort? You mean 1 hour per day after doing lots of missing homework every school day at their elementary school?

what the hell does that have to do with anything? just because its based on dbz its suddenly bad? if you really do have to have a problem with dbz mods then fine. but that shouldnt mean you lock a dbz related topic just because you dont like it, all it means is that you avoid the topic altogether because the people who do post in them dont wanna listen to your half assed uninformed opinion on why it sucks.

Yep, and they march all the way to the juvenile center...

In case, you haven't learned the following term: "Cease and Desist order".

so because some dbz mods run the risk of being told to stop, that suddenly means they cant have a topic here? cant you just stick to the topic instead of rambling on about the same crap that doesnt affect moddb in any way?

and in any case i dont see how this risk affects you in anyway, playing a dbz mod doesnt mean you run the risk of being arrested dumbass

You're quite amusing.

And this is about the modders, not the players. It's quite shameful for the modders if they can't get off their ass and do something original for the change. Look at BFP (Jan 2002 and onward) and GODZ for example.

Being original pays off.

firstly, you dont seem to have a very strong grasp of what is and isnt original. most of the other mods here are based on existing films, tv shows, or real life occurences (wars for example). the way most mods define whether they are original or not is how they are implemented ingame, what new features they add, and how the game plays.

secondly, regardless of your opinion on originality, dbz mods arent posted here for your benefit alone. alot of other people do enjoy playing them and like to see information about them here. this isnt just your little playground where only games that you like are allowed, this is meant to be a community, and obviously some members of this community do wanna see a dbz mod, unlike you, and they should have the freedom to do so, as should the modders themselves have the freedom to post about their game here

well im not afraid to make a mod that no one likes. The reason i make mods is not to be big and popular with everybody its to have fun thats all i do i dont try to make something thats gonna change the way you look at the modding community i just have fun. So if there having fun making the dbz mod its fine with me, but if there making it to be big and popular dont do it.

Motive - Are you just doing this to be famous? If so then give up now. Try to make mods simply for the art and the challenge, not for personal reasons.

They're generally a problem to our society. You can't make good friends nor have a good girlfriend with autism.
