Any games like Socom for PC? | Locked | |

I played Socom round my friends on his PS3 though I don't know how he got it because it isn't out till Feb it says on play.com.... anyways I really loved the game and was sooo addicted to it and wondered if there was any games like it for the PC? I mean third person tactical Counter Strike like but has to be third person and have people playing and hopefully not on Unreal engine 3. I would just get a PS3 because I want LBP and MGS4 too but the console is £100 too expansive me thinks and if I was willing to waste £300 on a console I would just buy a Core I7. I think you can get CoD on PC, it's fun, especially on multiplayer with friends. Theres always rainbow six as well. |

Full Spectrum Warrior was a pretty amazing game to me, but it was more strategy with a team than actually controlling a single player. There's also Frontlines: Fuel of War and Ghost Recon. -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |

Big bunch of lies right there. I think it's a great game, and I have played through it several times. They say it's full of cutscenes, but that only takes up about a fifth of the game (a lot, but nothing new with MGS). The rest is filled with great action, including some amazing splitscreen moments. The boss battles were very frenetic, and there's plenty of fan service thrown in for good measure. If you know someone who does own a PS3, you can try and play the demo that's on the PSN and check it out for yourself. It's the first level, and it should be a very good indication on whether or not you'll like the game. -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |

Reminds me of the Halo fanboys and their complaints against playing as the Arbiter. |

I loved MGS2 all the way through personally but the tanker obviously shined over the rest of the game as being the best moment. Int he Euro version you got a special edition CD with the making of and Hideo basically said the original game was going to be on the tanker only where you had to run away from the water that was chasing you down the corridor as the ship was sinking and then fight Metal Gear. The problem was that these two last parts wern't fun as you kept dying so they took that out and realised the game was only like 15 mins long and this was a coupel years in development. So they had to add this whole other part to the game and thats where you play Raiden. I personally didn't have a problem with Raiden myself and thought the game was great. I didn't like 3 and havn't played 4 though. Halo I never liked because the level design is like a pattern printed over and over again and the controls suck without Keyboard n Mouse and the frigging art style sucks. |

The closest I can think of is Navy Seals: Covert Operations (quake 3 mod). It's a pretty good mix between Counter Strike and Socom (even if it is an FPS). |
