mod description (for HL2 most probably);

· No human based characters
· All characters are alien like
· 3 team mode, 3 teams at a time playing on a server
· Based on an alien planet

Each team will have different type of aliens

[Examples

1 One class of alien
2 another class of alien
3 another class of alien]

The teams only have so many "1" "2" and "3"s so there would be a GUI (after the team select GUI) to pick which class.

An example of the GUI would be like Americas Army one (if it was a mod that ended and restarted after everyone died - which i don't play it to be [sounds a bit cs'ish])

if a player wanted to be "1" and all slots for that where full it would be blanked out - the player then selects a none blanked out class

The goal is too kill (something - dunno what yet) which stops the other teams from spawning

The 3 team mode could have advantages and disadvanges... but I am not going to discuss them except from one advamtage in the game play - two teams can gang up on one and they could back stab that team etc.

I have started a Design Document and have just over one page

It has the basic concept of the game, Structure of the game plany (only MP for now, maybe a SP later?)

There are too many 'Alien Mods' for any genere. But this sounds interesting-ish. But classes and all the other would feel CS-ish.

Don't incororate a weapon/poision buying GUI then you will be fine.

No buying GUI - classes have set "weapons" say to speak

I don't think ths is going to go anywhere, no-one is interested - or at least not showing interest because the sdk is not out, ah well :v

Maybee have a huge diversity between the aliens...

Race1-Melee combat only, like NS skulks

2-Long range, like Halo Grunts, like plasma rifels

3-Stealth maybee? Any ideas?

Or just have some marines with a huge disadvantage for the challenge :D

There are games similar to this, in order to survive it needs to be chock full of new features, like traps that scare the crap outta you and constant random surprises...

READ THIS BEFORE I GO MAD :P

When I use examples - they are meant to be examples i.e - i am NOT wanting to them to be EXACTLY like where my example source is from. Therefore Fox (for EXAMPLE :P ) SHOULDN'T claim copy right - correct?

Qualities (?) for this mod

· No human based characters
· All characters are alien like
· 3 team mode, 3 teams at a time playing on a server (option of standard 1 team vs 1 team)
· Based on an alien planet
· Dynamic environment

General Info

Each team will have different “aliens” there are so many “#1” and so many “#2”, a player would pick which “alien” he/she wanted to be, unless it was already taken. (example of the GUI would be Americas Army).

The maps will interact with what the players do, for example
· if a player blows up a “support” for a roof – the roof will collapse, (Obviously supports for roofs would not be in this mod (mod relativity – was intended for reference),
· parts of the maps will be “unstable” when a player walks on the unstable part it could collapse,
· if a player shots at another one, misses and it hits a cliff face (for example) bits will fly off the cliff, randomly, and hit the player – if he/she is unlucky

Weapons

Melee

Parts of the aliens body; slashing, charging, etc. Which all the aliens will have at least one.

Tail – for example; from Alien(s) [Will not be implemented if it will meet copyright stuff, and having said that it will be used like alien aliens tail i.e it swings round n hits you in the "face"]
Claws – both feet and hands

Hand Held

These weapons could be like human weapons but don’t use gun powder (for mod relatively reason).

Other

Some life-forms maybe able to charge a sort of energy ball in their hands then throw it – could be a weapon as such or used to reveal hidden aliens, these balls are unstable so you cannot charge them and hold them for a prolonged time otherwise they would explode. These wouldn’t be weapons as such but like magicians – in the sense that they can create energy.

To encourage team play, each alien will have advantages and disadvantages. Some examples of these are below;

Speed – fast and slow, will depend on the size of the alien and how many traits it has
Agility
Strength

Some aliens will be able to leap, not like Natural-Selection where as that is a weapon, but used for jumping. I’m not totally sure how I would want this implemented – maybe have a dial (?) on the GUI set a certain amount of power and that is how high/far you would leap.


I have myself a sound guy - ambience, music, sfx, and a web guy (+gfx) not as many as you lot might have - but it's a start

If you's are wondering "wtf do you do" I map ;) and going to learn XSI when they fix the bug that some of us lucky doods have
