Can you tell me doctor why I still can't get to sleep?
The night time's just a jungle dark and a barking M16.
What's this rash that comes and goes can you tell me what it means?
God help me, I was only 19.

the renders are a bit dark but the model looks good, is it for a mod or just for fun :)

Jul 16 2009 Anchor

@ moler: it's currently planned for a yet unannounced indie game

Awsome work. Gives me hope for blender's capabilities because I"m currently learning it myself. I'm a bit curious about the polygon count though. It looks like all the small details are modelled out. If you wanted a high performance game, wouldn't you ussually cover smaller details with bump maps?

Jul 17 2009 Anchor

it's about 5000 polys, which could easily be reduced... there's no normal mapping on this render, but if it ends up in a game, i'll probably bake some of the stuff into a texture

Well I look forward to see how it turns out. Just my two cents but, that model would be awsome in a cinimatic :)!

But enough procrastination, I gotta bet back to my blender tuts XD!

you'll learn more from tinkering than tutorials... most of them are garbage
