AI custom difficulty Thread

Hi, hopefully this has been posted in the right place which would allow someone with the info i need to find and answer it, (thanks in advance)
Im after a means of adjusting the difficulty of individual AI in single skirmish and multiplayer LAN, ending up with AI of different difficulty in the same game. im not sure how this would be done but i guess in the form of another drop down menu in addition to the drop down menus for; teams, race, colour etc. would be the ideal interface.

But what game/mod are you talking about? These are general forums. Or are you asking for general advice regarding selecting AI on the skirmish screen?

There are several ways to do general RTS AI selection.

1) first as you said, a classic dropdown menu to select a specific AI for each faction/player

2) second, like in Anno 2070, both AI difficulty and personality are tied into 1 single AI character/player and map factors define further difficulty levels. Anno also differs in actual AI selection - there are player portraits (4 in a row) rather than classic player "slots" (8 slots, one after another).

Other ways are mostly used in games like Total War or Heroes of Might & Magic that have "total" AI rather than "individual" AI for each AI player, and 3) those total AIs are selected by sliders or buttons placed (laid out) next to one another.
So maybe you could use an AI slider for an individual AI player too unless you want to avoid making your GUI too clunky? Well there's more than one way to cook an egg...

hi, thanks for your reply, i thought this was just a dow forum. the game is dawn of war soul storm. i dont have the ability to make something my self so was wondering if a mod or something exists which would enable individual ai difficulty adjustment in the skirmish/multiplayer screen.
