Alright, so first off there's the adverts that are on the video player. Now, I understand that advert help pay for ModDB's bills, but an advert plays for every single video played. Sometimes it gets to a point where I don't feel like viewing the rest of a person's media all because of a very persistent advert. Maybe ModDB can use a system similar to what GameSpot does, where they randomly select to display a advert or not (or they show a advert after every 5 videos, I don't know, I'm not the coder for that stuff). Now, I'm sure some people wouldn't mind the adverts playing in the video player, but there's another kind of advert that just completely gets to me. On the side bar an advert would start playing it's music without any input from myself, I believe it was some movie trailer. This kind of advert just annoys the heck out of me because I don't want sound randomly playing out of my speakers when I'm browsing through ModDB. Maybe I'm just annoyed from seeing too many instances of the same advert within a short amount of time, but I really don't think an advert should inject it's own audio without any input from me. The problem is that most the moddb team lives in Australia and we get a different set of ads than the states. We have told the advertisers that we dont want audio ads (and annoying ads) so if you see any can you please take a screen shot and the url the ad points to so we can get it removed. Contact us using the link at the bottom of the page. |

Personally, I'm also finding the adverts before videos a little annoying too. Some videos (for example, a demo walk-cycle) are around fifteen seconds long. Some of the adverts are as long as a minute. I don't want to watch a minute long advert for every fifteen seconds of actual content - in fact I'm finding that I've not watched any videos on the site now for quite some time - nor uploaded any. |

Wow I must be lucky, I have yet to get an advert before a video. As a whole though the only ads that I find annoying are the flashing ones. Aside from being distacting, most of them are just plain naff. -- Portfolio Give me a job, NOW! Please. |

I'm also laughing at an advert in German right now. I'm in England. Stayfriends: Schulfreunde wiederfinden! |

You ever had a time when you mention something that happens a lot around you, and when you try to show them it, it never comes? Yeah, that's kind of happening to me right now. The advert was for the DVD version of the Wolverine movie or whatever. That was the one that played it's audio automatically. Maybe if I stop searching for it, it'll pop up again... |

the ads on youtube are bloody annoying too because the coders screwed them up, so when you go fullscreen the advert doesn't scale properly and ends up cutting out the middle of the damn video you're trying to view, even worse it reappears when you close it. however some of the companies that advertise on this site are really strange, you'd think more "Game" companies would advertise here. |

Ok both of these issues should not be happening. No ad should play sound without "asking" so i have requested that ad be removed. Unfortunately these annoying ads do seem to slip through the cracks occasionally. As for videos, well the ads should be capped so you only see 1 a day. I've asked for this to be investigated and if it cannot be resolved I will consider reverting back to the old ad-free video system. |

I'd like to complain about the adverts before the videos too. I see that you said they should be capped at one per day, I hope it's fixed soon. It wouldn't even bother me except for the fact that every one that I see is an advertisement the same advertisement for Halo ODST. The same advertisement over and over and over is kind of annoying. The ODST commercials aren't even that bad but...I've seen them enough. |

It's gotten to the point where I've memorized the freaky chanting in the background. Truly, some kind of action must be done. |

There's a 30 sec video ad on every video. This is beyond annoying. I don't even bother watching them any more because of this crap. |

I don't get any ads on the videos but I get the normal ones on the web pages, but still none that play vids, so I don't mind. It must depend on your location. |

It does; the adverts are delivered based on your location as determined by your IP address. Try connecting through some random proxies, and you'll get differing adverts |

At my home the themes bar on top is black, and the add on the homepage is black and i have no adverts before videos. I Guess I am just lucky. |

Are you using an ad blocker by any chance? Because that would do it.
