Me and a friend have decided we would like to improve our crafts (mine being programming, his being storytelling/writing), but we find that neither of us really have any artistic talent. So, we need ourselves an artist!

THIS IS NOT A JOB OFFER, I can't stress that enough. What we're looking for is someone else who may not be the best at what they do (in this case spriting/tileset creation), but is willing to work on improve their art in a very low stress environment while also getting some decent experience to boot.

Our requirements-----

We don't require you to be amazing, or even all that good to be honest. All that we require is that you are at least better than us (Which honestly, isn't that difficult. Refer to this picture if you don't believe me.).

We do, however require that we have some way to contact you regularly, whether it be through (preferred)Skype, steam, or whatever.

The kind of sprite/tile art style we're looking for is 8/16/32-bit, beyond that we don't have any kind of preference as we can adjust what we're doing to fit art styles.

We don't require you to work your butt off every single day of the week, in fact, we don't really require you to work that much in general. Again, this isn't a job, it's not your career, it's more of a hobby thing that we're all doing to improve ourselves and get better at what we do. However, if we don't hear anything from you for a long time(a couple months or so), and you haven't really been contributing anything we will look for someone to replace you. If you're chosen, really all you need to do is check in every so often, maybe tell us what you've been up to or something, you don't necessarily need to work yourself to the bone and provide us with stuff constantly. If you feel like working your butt off and you really enjoy art-ing constantly, then by all means. send us what you've been working on, otherwise, no big deal.

We do require a certain level of maturity. Whilst we do enjoy goofing around joking and playing a lot, we don't want someone who's just unpleasant to be around and annoying to talk to. That being said, it's a plus if you have a sense of humor, can take a joke, and don't take everything personally. We play around and joke a lot, therefore you are also allowed to do so as well, obviously.

It helps if you have a certain knowledge about frame by frame sprite animation also, as we would prefer if the sprites could have walk-cycles, attack animations, etc. If not, I'm sure I could help a little bit in that department.

It would also be nice if you could help with level design, although not required, it definitely would be a major help to have the person that created the tiles also place the tiles around on a map because they would understand better than either of us about how the tiles work together.

We do NOT require you to have any advanced GameMaker Studio experience, it helps if you understand at least a little about the basic functions (adding sprites, objects, sounds, creating levels with the room editor, etc), but you don't need to know anything about programming or anything complicated like that. (Though, if you'd like to learn some of the more complicated stuff such as programming, you and I could definitely work together to learn more.)

On the topic of Game Maker, we don't require you to have any of the paid versions, in fact it would probably be preferable that you don't as we're currently using the current Beta of the free version of studio, not the paid versions.

And that's about all I can think of at the moment, I'm sure I'll be notified if I left anything out.
If you are interested, feel free to contact me. PM me here, or add me on skype (Inlustre1). Please send at least 1 example of your artwork when you contact me. Thanks a lot for you time and I hope to work with you soon
(also, sorry if I posted this on the wrong forum.)
