One simple time travel. A hundred unexpected consequences.

"For a Ceasar... Time is on our side." - Colonel Anatoly Cherdenko, upon introducing the Time Machine to General Boris Krukov.

In an alternate timeline in the past, the long-living Union of Soviet Socialist Republics was meeting it's final days. Months after the Alliance of Democratic Republics' victory over the psychic soviet dissident Yuri and his army, President Michael Dugan and several Allied Nations initiated a series of non-direct actions to tear down Soviet power in it's territory, not through direct conflict, but through sabotage, political corruption and propaganda. With the exception of his patriotic comrades, General Boris Krukov, which replaced the late General Vladimir, and Colonel Anatoly Cherdenko, Director of the Soviet Temporal Displacement Project, the ruling Premier, Alexander Romanov, was at most... alone.

The non-direct actions were a complete success, mostfully thanks to some actions from the American Allied Special Agent, Tanya Adams. As a consequence, riots, terrorist actions and rebellions emerged all across the Republics. Constant claims of the people for freedom disturbed about every night near the Kremlin. Not even Moscow itself was left unscathed. Attempts from the Soviets to control the riots, even through the use of the newly infamous KDB-5 Sickel Anti-Infantry Walker, had failed and contributed to even more deaths, if not from the angry Soviet populace, then from the weary and bruised Conscripts. With the ever-rising death-count on the run and Dugan's nearly god-like influence, the Allied War Council had decided to mobilize and finish the U.S.S.R. once and for all. Instead of setting an example by standing before the Allies, Romanov had cowardly fled from Moscow to avoid Allied judgement, leaving the final hours of the Soviet Union directly in the hands of General Krukov and Colonel Cherdenko. In a plead for help, Cherdenko convinced Krukov to come with him through the Kremlin's underground, presumed by the simple-minded and arrogant General to be an escape route.

It was then that he saw...

Through his eyes, Krukov learned that the Soviet Temporal Displacement Project was a last-ditch attempt to save the Union through a yet-experimental technology: time travelling. Using technology stolen from the Allies' greatest scientific mind, Doctor Albert Einstein, the leading Soviet scientist responsible for the Project, Doctor Gregor Zelinsky, considered the greatest scientific mind of the Union, had constructed a Time Machine using the current Soviet energy, the Tesla Reactor. Still, it wasn't known if the machine was fully prepared to it's purpose. But there would come a time when the Machine would be used to ultimately secure the survival and supremacy of the Soviets. And, with the Allies closing in on the Kremlin and the Soviet populace on rebellion, the time was now.

Although reluctantly, Zelinsky established the coordinates and entered on the Time Machine along with Cherdenko and Krukov. As the machine activated and sparks of electrical Tesla Energy spreaded over the three Soviet patriots' bodies, they were reduced to atomic particles and re-emerged in a different place, and a different time: Brussels, during the International Physics Conference in 1927. The time travelling experiment was a success. And, standing right in the front of them was the young Einstein, in a speech to the watching european scientists. Just as Einstein finished his speech, Cherdenko approached him with 'good intentions'.

A handshake was all that he needed. Temporal Displacement Science states that the integrity in space-time continuum is delicate, and anything that is changed in the past can provoke un-expected consequences in the future. Something from the future touching something from the past (or vice-versa) can de-estabilize the continuum, instantly vaporizing something or someone. And the same occured with Albert Einstein, dissapearing from everywhere, like he wasn't even born.

With this done, Cherdenko, Krukov and Zelinsky returned to the time machine and to the present, expecting to see a 'New world order': With Einstein out of the way, the Allies are stripped of the technological superiority that ensured their victory before. As they resurfaced to the office from where they came from, their dreams had come true: Although America is unconquered, it is weak, and the Allies in Europe are fighting a losing battle, with their limit pushed to the United Kingdom. The Soviet Union, after this time travel, is finally winning the war and will soon conquer the world, under the leadership of Colonel Cherdenko, or most clearly, Premier Cherdenko.

But, of course, there are always unpredicted consequences... The Soviets' moments of celebration are interrupted when attack reports emerge from the Russian eastern coast, followed by the ultimatum of a strange asian-born old man. It is no one but Emperor Yoshiro, ruling sovereign of Japan's Empire of the Rising Sun. As Krukov ordered the use of nuclear ordinance to quickly eliminate the japanese invading fleet, he felt the bad side of the time travel: By eliminating Einstein, not only did the Soviets give room for the japanese to become technologically superior, but they've eliminated their nuclear power completely, as Einstein was the creator of the atomic bomb.

Now, with most of the Soviet forces pushing the Allies further out of Europe, the Empire's landing into Soviet territory is made easily, eventually advancing towards Stalingrad and destroying monuments that are symbolic to the Soviet people. A new commander was chosen to aid the new Premier in holding back the Empire, but little might come out of it. The most critical moment for the U.S.S.R is now at hand.

MEANWHILE, IN THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD...

"... And while the other candidates are serving special interests, I'm serving the commies a steaming platter of shame with a side order of "Suck it"!" - United States President Howard T. Ackerman.

Winning time and again over the hearts of millions of American citizens, the name Howard T. Ackerman, elected President of the United States, became known through out the whole world for his charismatic behavior, unorthodox manner in solving most country problems and fervorous anti-communist stance. Having power over one of the most important and powerful nations to integrate the Alliance of Democratic Republics, Ackerman has issued a call-to-arms over the globe for all who stand for freedom to rise in arms against the Red Menace. Even the most experienced and high-ranked officers like Field Marshall Robert Bingham have seen he's a president that has come to stay, period.

Little did the simple-minded Allies realize that Ackerman wasn't human... at least not entirely. Ackerman was originally a cybernetic construct (i.e. Cyborg) devised by the Empire's greatest military mind: Crown Prince Tatsu, son to the Emperor himself. Believing that true victory comes into the hearts and minds of people, Yoshiro put Ackerman into the White House to drive the Allied forces against the Soviet Union from the West while the Empire attacked from the East. When the Soviet threat was no longer existing, the Empire would drive it's efforts towards the Allies themselves. Everything was brilliant, going as planned, until Bingham had made an unexpected move: He sought an alliance with Premier Cherdenko to defeat the Empire, which most of the Allied leaders had agreed, despite Ackerman's protests.

Not enjoying such an alliance capable of jeopardizing everything, the Empire controlled Ackerman to break the pact by utilizing a secret superweapon installed in Mount Rushmore. Once again, the move was futile, as Bingham's forces managed to break through and destroy the weapon. With everything falling apart, Tatsu decided to recall Ackerman back to Japan and plan a new strategy in hopes of holding the Allies and Soviets. Ackerman's Limo, however, was destroyed at Bingham's orders by Vindicator Bomber strikes, eventually causing Ackerman's death. Or destruction.

The President's death had generated a wave of grief and rage over the european nations into the Americans. The Allied War Council promised a court-marshall investigation over Bingham as soon as the conflict would be over to ease the fragile hearts of the United States, in hopes of avoiding their separation from the Alliance.

In Japan, the Empire had prepared itself for generations to fulfill their so called "Divine Destiny", the destiny the Emperor himself believed he was chosen to conquer the remaining word and show the way of Bushido (The Way of the Warrior) to the "foreign barbarians". Rank after rank of highly-advanced kinetic-armor-wearing soldiers, helicopter-transforming mechs, giant humanoid robots and ninja-like elite warriors stood their positions in the gigantic floating fortresses stationed on the oceans, waiting for the final order to strike. Reuniting a Shogunate, a council formed by the most skilled military leaders among the Empire, Yoshiro and Tatsu went on to the first enemy to fall to their technological superiority: The Soviet Union. That is, until the Allies intervened by launching an attack against their major naval installations in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

But there were more problems to rise. In the background of the war, facing the armies of Russia and Japan wasn't the only problem for the Allies... Several nations who needed their help were abandoned to help fund the war against the U.S.S.R in the past. One nation among them had plans for payback. A nation from South America.

UNLIKELY THREAT.

"Look around you, and see what you have before you. Selfish communist lackeys who think of nothing but themselves and still claiming they fight for the people! Japanese fools under the command of a delusioned would-be god man, thinking they are destined to rule over us all! And where are the capitalist puppeteers in North America and Europe to protect and help us when we need them? Out there, concerned with containing their war expanses instead of doing what they were created for! I say to you, no longer! We have for long been ignored despite our talents! We have for long been threatned, even as we bowed our necks and done the will of our 'masters'! And then Resoultion 61A-7, that virtually wiped off our pride and wealth, as that of our neighbouring nations!!! Enough, I say to you! Today, you stand as more than soldiers of the prideful green. You stand as heroes, people who'll bring recognition that we deserve. Let the legacy of the Forth spread foward as Brazil takes it's righteous place among the ruling powers of this planet! TODAY IS OUR DAY!" - Brazilian President Linus Rodrigues, adressing the Forth armies.

Ever since the takeover against the ruling President, João Goulart, in 1964, the Brazilian Military High Command has been hardly pressed to handle a country it wasn't just ready for it. At first they promised full aid to the Allies in fighting the communist ideals within their lands and send as much aid as they could. But, unlike the United States, Brazil lacked the economic stability to do so, and was seen as just another weight in the backs of the Allies and a thorn for the masses of the Brazilian population, suffering from mass unemployment, hunger and low salaries, sometimes in a situation far worse than the ones the Soviets faced during the Russian Revolution of 1917. All attempts to contain the masses while aiding the Allied forces had failed.

The worse had come in 1986, when the Allied War Council had signed Resolution 61A-7, stating that all political influence and recognition from nations that didn't majorly contributed to the Allies would be stripped away and it's resources, from food to military equipment and man power, would be forcingly drawn to the war reserves. Upon that day, the entire South American continent lived what they've called the Period of Nightmare. Prices were at an all-out rise. The best food could only be bought by the most wealthy people on the planet. Quality education was sacrificed in order to accept hundreds of children into the Brazilian schools, in hopes of achieving better foreign job offerings to even feed their families.

Across this scenario of chaos, misery and disorder, a new Military Party emerged from the ARENA (National Renewal Alliance), led by a certain Lieutenant Linus Rodrigues. This young and new dynamic leader didn't speak of new promises for the Brazilian population neither of inciting a new flame, similar to that of the Soviets. He spoke of a new generation to come, one who would 'set the limit' for the Allied abuses and take it's place as an influent nation on Earth. He didn't speak of marvellous solutions for the economic and social crysis. He spoke of a new society where all could struggle, each in it's role, to strengthen themselves and strengthen the nation. He didn't spoke of a government where the people could be influent. He spoke of a new order capable of guiding the masses and providing satisfactory results to the social, political, military and economic elite, all while maintaining order and strict control over it's political system. For his efforts, he obtained large support from all of the brazilian society and from the neighbouring nations, pleading to join all borders into a large political power. With 78% of the votes from all of South America, with the aid of ARENA, Rodrigues had won over General Emílio Médici, a conservative military party member, and formed the South American Council (SAC), which served as nothing more but a cover-up for the most devious moves made by the brazilian politicians.

Still, despite this popularity, most unjust laws that were made by his predecessors, foremost among them the Institutional Acts, were maintained. People that dared to question Rodrigues' god-like authority dissapeared. Using extensive propaganda and military parades, he inspired the people into a nationalistic frenzy, scaring hard-lined military officers and politicians who thought he was too radical. His Elite Guard kept everyone in watch, showing that Rodrigues was the President and that not even 'capitalist pushovers' would stain his rule. Going against the wishes of the Allies, Rodrigues has quickly militarized Brazil.

But these were only the first steps made by Rodrigues in a long road to fufilling the dreams of supremacy for the Southern nations...

TO INFINITE AND BEYOND!

"Yesterday, we once looked to the skies at the night and saw our dreams. Today I'm among them, beholding... the future." - Dédalo Phineas, Evaluation Officer, Forth Tactical Command.

In the subsequent war against the Red Menace, the Allied space programs, like the under-developed nations, were abandoned in favor of the war effort. With the exception of the Krasna-45 facility, the Soviet Union did not have much use for the space shuttles which lied in orbit. In many aspects, the space program was a thing of the past, something to leave behind to rot. President Rodrigues thought otherwise.

Infiltrating the former NASA facilities in Houston disguised as tourists, brazilian spies hacked through the Allied sloppy security systems and uploaded gigantic loads of data to several computers stored in São Paulo's underground. This allowed them to explore the space technology and establish a proper fleet of spaceships to colonize the darkest side of the Moon, establishing their greatest military base of operations, called Nova Luna, using the remaining resources from the entire SAC as well as borrowed resources from the Allies, done years before Rodrigues' ascension to power. Nova Luna, when first established, became a mining site, but it ultimately transformed to a primary staging ground with the formation of their most powerful army: The Forth.

The establishment of Nova Luna raised hope for the population, as thousands of new jobs opened to effectively occupy and develop the brazilian space colony. No longer the brazilians needed to import any materials or food from the Allied forces, as Nova Luna provided the materials. Despite the expenses, Nova Luna provided the key for the large-scaled development in all of Brazil, specially São Paulo, which became the new brazilian capital.

With this secret base established and succeeded, prosperity had slowly risen for the whole South America. The brazilian military had just begun to prepare itself for war until their scientists in Nova Luna had encountered a material never seen before, that provided mass energy and other technological advances, as well as deadly firepower matching that of the Empire of the Rising Sun. Brazil had discovered uranium and, in an euphoric state, begun to exploit it. Advancements like anti-gravity drives, genetic enhancement, cloning technology, electro-magnetic pulses and rail guns were successfully developed in Nova Luna. Still, this technology required at the same time military discipline and scientific knowledge to handle it. It was the time when Rodrigues initiated recruiting and cloning the scientists' sons to become a brand new lethal generation of infantry, never seen before in the history of mankind: Nerd soldiers.

Violent disciplinary action, equipment training and excessive violent video-game hours were all the Brazilian Dictatorship needed to transform this once kind part of society in killing machines. Physical training was at the minimal, all the required to obey the chain of command and stand alive in dire conditions. Numbers or minimizing casualties weren't a problem, the numerous cloning and automated vehicle fabrication facilities on Nova Luna provided the numbers President Rodrigues needed. Dozens of circle-like space shipyards, the Starfields, harbored a nearly unlimited number of saucer-like spacecraft, in all sizes, each one with a specific purpose. But not even the destroyer-like Ultra Saucers could match the size of the humongous Carriers, holding Tripler Armored Aerial Carriers, Iron Claw fighters and thousands of nerd infantry companies (Known as the Angry Video Game Nerds, or AVGN for short term) as well as hives containing Leech B.E.Es (Biomechanical Electromagnetic Evaders) and saucers suited for staging-point bases on the surface.

Still, the Forth had constructed it's own chain of command, separated from the Brazilian Military High Command, formed by a few conscient people and criminal masterminds. Foremost of them stood Arthur Velasco, who attempted an assassination plot against Rodrigues and thus became the Prime Leader, the commander-in-chief of the Forth. To ensure full loyalty, the brazilian government had installed remote controlled shock devices, who can ultimately hurt or kill anyone Rodrigues considers expendable, into the entire Forth army. All were installed with device... except one. Dédalo Phineas, a highly-minded scientist-born son who was 'recruited' into the secret brazilian army, is still waiting to recieve his Control Device. It isn't known to anyone why this boy didn't recieved the very controller that kept all of the Forth in check immediately, but it's a secret well-guarded from rest of the world, even from Rodrigues, by Velasco and his second-in-command, Interrogator Celina Athena.

Meanwhile, on Earth, Rodrigues discussed tirelessly with the Allies concerning the removal of Resolution 61A-7 and the return of Brazil and the minor nations in the major political roles played in the Allied War Council, only to be denied again and again. And now, with the threat of the Soviet Union pushing even forth into the west, it would soon be the time Brazil entered the war on it's own. The Forth fleet orbits over the moon, away from the other world powers' satellites. Their first target is set: The Empire of the Rising Sun, for it's technology may be able to hold and eventually fight back the Forth.

Exactly when they'll strike remains unclear...

SINGAPORE, ANOTHER NUISANCE... OR NOT.

"I simply cannot understand why so much discontent from our brazilian partners. Our country, among many others, also have suffered from the invasions of our misguided japanese brethren and of the Soviets, as well as the ever-rising corruption within the Allies, but ours also managed to devise means to survive without conflict. We have our own economic ways and our people are happy about it, because, despite the fact of being in the edge of war, we did it. Good leaders defeat the opponents, but doing so by fighting them or not is what determines a great leader." - Xian Ho Gui, Supreme Fieldmaster (General) of the Singapore Liberation Militia, in a special documentary concerning the Forth invasion.

Maintaining a state of neutrality among the warring powers and preferring to stay away from such complications of global war, the country of Singapore was not left alone however, for it's resources, high education and manpower were the most desired by the Soviet leaders and the Empire in the past. As a gesture of good will, in hopes of obtaining an important ally in the first Great World War, the Allied Nations had exported entire loads of military hardware to the ruling government, the Republic of Singapore. Still, Singapore preferred to remain quiet. In the end, the Allies, in the need of new weapons, abandoned the equipment in Singapore, leaving the equipment to rot.

The sanctioning of the Allied Resolution 61A-7 had changed the situation for Singapore as well, although it was only a little change, compared to the mass disaster occured in South America. Being famed for recurring to unorthodox ways, the country had sold most of it's modern equipment for the Allies and made use of the riches obtained to fund secret mining and underground farming procedures to feed it's population. Although disgruntled, the population had understood the meaning of sacrifice and accept the primitive way of life, supported by the equipment offered by the Allies, forcingly through the hands and gunpoint of the Republic. By then, Singapore continued it's life as usual, holding threats and attacks from the Empire, which desired to unify all of the asian population.

The major level of conflict in Singapore erupted in the beginning of the Forth invasion, forcing the Republic to divert most of it's armies in the borders to fight the enemy in it's lands. It was all for nothing, however, as several armies were wiped out by the relatively small Forth task force, diminishing even more the people's faith in the Republic. The government was forced to open negotiations with the Empire, in hopes of eliminating the brazilian enemy, generating a spark of discontent among the mass of the free populace. Joint riots of the government police and the Imperial military have raised death counts in the hundreds.

Not accepting any more humiliations from the abusive Imperial government and the invasion of the Forth in his country, General Xian Ho Gui and several military divisions of the Republic separated from the government and went on to forming a resistance army to drive the enemy away from it's lands. At first spreading wide propaganda to join the newly-formed Singapore Liberation Militia, the Republic did not accept such "treachery" and declared the SLIM as a major terrorist organization, as the Empire would not accept such insubordination for an "honorless creed they call freedom". Still, such moves from the government did not stop the masses from joining the new revolutionary movement.

Despite the very low technology hoarded, the SLIM would not so easily give up. With several creative minds joining the ranks of the resistance, most of this technology began to be converted into deadly weapons of frontline war. The simple Autocrossbow would be nothing compared to new machinery employed from the old war equipment.

The means didn't matter. The cause did. Victory and freedom to Singapore. No matter the cost.

FUTURE: FIFTEEN YEARS LATER...

"'I'm not sure if I'll ever get a chance to leave another one of these. It doesn't seem like help is coming and we have nowhere else to run. They came in, not from the West and neither East, they just...came. I heard them marching forth on Japan, America, and I heard screaming...a lot of screaming. Now they've came to Russia and have destroyed almost everything!!! My daughter and wife are still out there, I never got a chance to find them before the enforcers enlisted me to be a Conscript. With Moscow in rubble, now Odessa is the only place we have. Whoever reads this diary, please just know, the invaders are not Japanese, and neither Allied. They're from the South." - Private Drezin Npetonk, U.S.S.R. 3rd Conscript Regiment, writing his final words before the siege of Odessa.

Everything was devastated by the invasion. Moscow continues to burn. Tokyo and the Japanese islands were desolated. Washington D.C, Geneva and London have become giant deposits for ash and rubble. Blood is everywhere, Allied, Japanese and Soviet alike. Brazil and Singapore were successful in it's conquest, but the onslaught between bothcontinue.

Still, a final resistance force led by General Ivan Grotosky is stationed at the last ground still untouched by the enemy: Odessa. No other escape routes are available and all the regions around the city are occupied. It's a deathtrap for the remnants of the former Soviet Union. Unless they irradiate the entire country, thus killing themselves in the process, there is no way of stopping the Forth or SLIM forces. Or perhaps there is.

Per orders of Colonel Grigori Lienkov, a new Time Machine, based on the one invented by the long-gone Doctor Zelinsky, is under construction in the remnants of the city downtown, surrounded by rubble and exposed to Forth orbital fire. Even now the Machine's construction is nearly finished, where Lienkov hopes that by travelling to the past and warning the Union, they can stand a chance against the relentless Forth onslaught. Most of the resistance, including General Grotosky, holds little faith in him, however, and still prepare to fight the last battle of their lives. Worse yet was the fact the remaining Allied forces have escaped to deep space aboard an experimental capital ship, the A.N.S.S. Eastwood, and now they might be underway to engage both Forth and Soviets alike in one last battle.

Fifteen years have passed since the first time travel. The end is coming. Or maybe not...
