I decided to murder a couple of Loners in the Great Swamps, just because Degtyarev isn't very nice.
You can also see a very first look at the Helmet-view that will be included as an option in Redux v2.0. Please remember everything is still very WiP (helmet overlay is a placeholder for instance) and is not representative of the release version.
Good job :D
I heard people are working on an actual 3D Mask over the camera which would make it look pretty awesome. I should try and figure out how to do it myself. I do have an idea which you would have to attach it to the weapon it'self but have it in front of the camera. Maybe there is a way to do it in the SDK?
You have more experience in the SDK and if you think you could do this just talk to me through Skype and I could create a mask for you to test.
:)
That sounds awesome!! I hope Beac can implement this
Hopefully you will make these mask overlays optional :S
Yes they will be optional :) Also bear in mind the overlay is just a placeholder :)
Glass-effects on the helmet like in metro2033 would be hardcore!
Damned sharp idea ! For myself, in narrowing the field of vision, this option could add a new level of focus and immersion - i.e., night or underground play and stealthy operations.
Wow...wowowowowow!!! that compass counter is AMAZING! such a small detail immediately got my attention!
Photogragh of little boy is funny as hell
Whennnnnnnnnnnnwnwnwnnwwwnnnnnn? xD
I think it would be pretty cool if you took out automatic reloading and screen text for jamming, such that your gun will have to be reloaded manually if you run out of bullets or jam. Perhaps you could still reload even if you didn't have anymore bullets to reload with (so you wouldn't know if you were out of bullets or not)
Just watched the video, and thought i have to leave a comment regarding the mask-overlay too.
I would like to play with such a feature, but not if it looks like this one.
It's to sharp, to much covering the screen and its absolutly not realistic. Its like the view through binoculars, you don't see two circles there.
Also important: The sharpness of the overlay, because for our eyes everything is on the same distance (on the monitor screen) our eye is not able to get it out of the focus while looking in the distance, so you would have to do that with the overlay, it has to be blurry. Miseryteam did teh same mistake, and if the helmet is not 100% repaired it is just a pain in the *** to look through.
Alterantivly you could use just a pane overlay, what is not so much disturbing. Metro: Last Light is a good example.
