Ringheroes in Edain

Note:"Ring Heroes must now pick up the Ring themselves. The Ring cannot be picked up by other units. If the ring rests on the ground without a ringbearer it, will disappear after a little while."

Gondor/Arnor

Gandalf The Grey (Gondor/Arnor)

If Gandalf acquires the One Ring while being Grey he will use the ring for his own needs and become "corrupt". He will weaken allies in his presence and will damage them over time. He also loses a lot of speed and the ability to ride Shadowfax.

Gandalf the White (Gondor)

Should Gandalf acquire the ring while being White he will use the One Ring for the well being of all Men. Heroes and units close to Gandalf will be healed. His abilities will become much more powerful.

Boromir (Gondor)

Should Boromir take the ring, he will use it to defend Gondor from being destroyed. He will be able to permanently summon strong units but the One Ring will kill him in after a certain amount of time. When the One Ring takes his life, the player will not be able to use any of Gondor's buildings (and will not be able to build anything) for 30 seconds.

Arvedui (Arnor)

Arvedui accepts massive losses in battle to find the worthiest soldiers, and his new abilities support heroes while weakening normal troops

Rohan

Theoden the Corrupted

Theoden becomes Grima's puppet. He follows Grima as a mindless slave. Grima becomes controllable, and can use the same abilities as Corrupted Theoden with much stronger effects.

Glorious Theoden

Theoden can choose between 4 abilities, each granting a special effect but weakening his armor and speed.

Lothlorien

Queen Of Storms (Galadriel)

Should Galadriel accept the One Ring and use it, she will become a Queen of storms, gaining many powerful new abilities. Mallorn Trees will be able to research a useful defensive specialization. However, allies will be debuffed while inside the fortress and while near to Galadriel.

Queen Galadriel

If Galadriel rejects the One Ring, she will become blessed by the Valar. She will gain improved versions of her abilities, along with a new ability and leadership. Frodo and Sam will also become recruitable from the Citadel.

Dwarves

Dain (Iron Hills)

Dain takes the Ring for himself, giving into his rage and gaining increased stats. He loses any passive health regeneration, but heals with every strike and gains new destructive abilities that turn him into an unstoppable berserker.

King Dain (Erebor)

Dain is older and wiser now and does not take the Ring for himself. Instead, his descendant Durin VII. will step forward and claim the One Ring, going on his journey to reclaim the lost dwarven kingdom of Khazad-Dûm. This final incarnation of the legendary Forefather of the dwarves has to successfully complete his quest to Moria, but will be rewarded by powerful abilities and permanent access to Mithril.

Thorin Oakenshield (Ered Luin)

Thorin takes the Ring for himself and gains increased stats. Along with that troops nearby him now loot big amounts of slain units but production buildings are severely debuffed.

Imladris

Elrond

Elrond will give the Ring to the Fellowship, allowing them to fight by his side. He will not gain any sort of new abilities or increased stats but it will summos the Fellowship of the Ring Hero Battalion.

Isengard

Saruman
Saruman will become either 'Saruman the Blessed” or “Saruman the Cursed”. As Saruman the Blessed he will become lordly, alike to the power of the Valar, and gain powers of Lightning and Air magic, as well as infantry support skills. As Saruman the Cursed he will become twisted and dark, and gain powerful Fire magic and structural support skills.

Mordor

The Necromancer
The Necromancer is Sauron itself in a Necromancer form. When he takes the One Ring back he will take his old form as the Dark Lord but not all his powers will be restored. He need's the ability Power Of The Past Age to restore all of his powers and to cast a shadow over Middle Earth and to start the Fourth Age as the Dark Lord ruler of all.

Misty Mountains

Smaug

Smaug, greatest calamity of his age, will become even greedier once finding the One Ring. He constantly sets the ground around him ablaze, burning friend and foe alike. His stats increase the more gold the player hoards, and his abilities and attacks will generate plenty of new riches.

Angmar

The Witch King
If the Witch King receives the One Ring he will cast an everlasting winter on everyone and everything. All effects of his ability 'Favor of the Witch-King' increase in power, allowing the recruitment of new units and buildings, and he unleashes his full might as the powerful sorcerer that brought ruin to the kingdom of Arnor.

@ Lord_Oden:
You get randomly Saruman the blessed or Saruman the cursed.
@ Deadranger:
As deathteam said, Arnor has the same mechanics as Gondor.

Was my pleasure making this :)

A few feedback's: Here at Mordor faction, The Necromancer isn't underlined :P
And as for Shelob, is it normal or when she acquires the One Ring she gains a new level very very slow? It's like she needs a million exp points :D

I feel like Aragorn should be a ring hero. His revealing himself to Sauron was effective because it made Sauron think that Aragorn had taken possession of and mastered the One Ring.

i like to ask you edain team could you add extra ring heros and if you did what would they be? I'm not personally asking you to do it cause it would cause a lot of changes in game but it would be cool to see other unlikely characters to get the ring.

I prefer Durin,it is much more unique and interesting feature!

Plus King Dain refused to take all the remaining Dwarven Rings,so I doubt he would take and use the One Ring! :-)

Some health changes might be needed seeing as Gandalf the grey is weaker in health than Boromir and Galadriel is also pretty weak in health. Considering the cost of these major heros their health should be stronger. I mean Boromir should not be stronger than Gandalf the grey, maybe while hes using the ring but I'm talking about prior to usage of the One Ring. I know the mod is still under construction and not complete but I think hero health's need to be looked over. Also I have noticed that Sauron upon receiving the ring has a massive health increase which while I agree Sauron should be the strongest hero when equipped with the one ring but Galadriel and Saruman and Gandalf should not be to far behind as they are also very powerful people. Now I know Elrond has not been added yet but in the Anor section Ceridin(sorry i know i spelled his name wrong) he should be a ring hero choice. He was one of the three elves to hold rings of power and while you still have him in possession of Narya he should be a ring hero choice for Anor. Also I mentioned this elsewhere but will restate what I mentioned prior, Mordor should have a power that allows them to summon some mumakil like 3-5. Since mordor can't build them in their siege building they at least deserve to have access to them. Make Shelob a hero for the goblins or something like that and in the spot of her summoning power for mordor create the summoning mumakil power of at least 3-5 of them if not more or simply a passive power that then allows there creation. As a side not I have mentioned in terms of AI usage when playing against them putting them as Lothlorien or Rohan creates the best fights as they seem to use those two class pretty well and can become powerhouses. Now certain maps do make changes to this as on some makes the AI will be a complete powerhouse with Lothlorien and on another they will simply hardly do anything. Now Mordor is without question the strongest fraction when used by a human play. Don't get me wrong the Lothlorien and Dwarves can be powerful when used by humans as well but Mordor takes the cake in terms of power and if Mordor gets the ring and then has Sauron they begin to be unstopable which thats before the level 10 power for Sauron which if you allow your human enemy playing as mordor to get the ring bring out Sauron and have enough power to unlock that level 10 power then you have lost no question about it. Overall though this Mod IS SUPER AMAZING, BEST B4ME2 MOD EVER, AND BASICALLY B4ME3 once the remaining fractions are added and other small issues are ironed out. EA could learn a thing or two from these guys. EA made the biggest mistake by not working on a B4ME3. Keep up the awesome work and can't wait for new updates with new fractions to be be released hopefully soon. ~LordWood

Greetings, Lord of the Woods!

You are making some astute observations here with the content concerning some of the heroes and forces of this, our Middle Earth. I can most certainly agree that Gandalf needs a little bit of work on his A-game. When I commanded him to face a wild cave troll, it nearly slew him! Such travesty seems taxing to my faith in him, both as a Great Wizard, and as the main hero of Gondor--the Ring Hero no less.

But then it occurred to me, that Gandalf and Saruman are both wizards with an arsenal of powerful spells as abilities--as such, the recharge time of their abilities is a lot longer than some other powers such as that of more battle-ready heroes like Strider or Gimli. This would make sense, considering magic in the game is used more to support a large army rather than wielded as a direct method of attack. I find that the wizards fare better with some of their forces in front of them so that they're able to cast their spells without getting hurt.

Concerning Lord Sauron however, I do agree that the Dark Lord a little bit too far ahead of Gandalf, Saruman, and others. When a ring hero acquires the ring, I do agree that they should gain a greater boost to their health points, attack points, and armor value.

The Mumakil were among my favorite monsters when I played as Mordor back then, and I think there should be a way to bring them back! I may make a proposal that there be a fourth "Outpost" option for Mordor where one can build a "Haradrim Palace". No, not the tiny tent from the pre-modded game, but I am imagining a magnificent structure like a great fortress. Who knows? Maybe it can allow for the training of Easterling or Haradrim forces! I missed the corsairs, too. I think ultimately, this palace would be able to train Mumakil though.

Have a good day,

-Festus the Red

Hi, I just installed this mod (version 4.2), but somehow I can only choose between Gondor, Rohan, Isengard and Mordor, while not having others in my drop down list. Am I the only one with this problem?
