Modcast Debut!
Feb 09, 2008 Project Valkyrie Interview 45 commentsIn our continuing effort to profile mods and the developers behind them, Mod DB presents the debut entry of the Mod DB podcast.

Welcome to Mod DB and the 6th Annual Mod of the Year Awards - the definative event that showcases the best mods and indie games in the world and recognizes the teams behind them. The MOTY is a tribute to the creativity, dedication & hard work independent developers put into creating unique gaming experiences that enable us to "play something different".
Over the coming months we will showcase to you the best mods and games in the industry. You vote for those you believe are worthy of recognition. At the top of this program sits the ultimate prize, the mod of the year award won previously by Natural Selection, Red Orchestra, PoE2 and Garry's Mod. Thanks to our sponsors, this year we have a few surprises up our sleeves not to mention a slew of prizes for the participating teams.
From Dec 1st to Jan 1st, industry professionals, developers, gamers and the general public cast their votes to decide which mods define the cutting edge of interactive entertainment and which mod teams attain gaming celebrity.

Editor's Choice is here! See what Mod DB editors have picked as their most notable of 2007.
After rounding out the best of 2007, we're ready to present the results.
Here at ModDB, we are always looking for an opportunity to put mods into the spotlight. So it is with great pleasure that we announce the syndication...
The top 100 mods and indie games of 2007 are here and it is time to get get serious, get voting and shorten this list to the best of the best.

The problem with not having best in a category (ie: best driving, best shooter), is that it makes us people that made a mod without the luxury of an SDK go up against mods that the makers had an SDK for and were able to do add more things to the mod.
I think that recognizing each aspect of the mod is a good thing, but they shouldn't have ditched the best in genre awards.
I agree; that's why - along with the sheer size of its community - we always see Half-Life 2 mods winning. At least acknowledge these categories in the post-mortem, even if there are no prizes associated with them.
I see somemore categories this year :) .
Paranoia all the way!

Yes, I to wish to show a video preview of my modification. Will you please complete the video previews as soon as you can, I will be extremely greatful if you did.
When will the annoying video's servers be fixed so that I can showcase my mod video for the MOTY's?, & why are they taking so long to get up?, & will they be up & ruuning before the MOTY's voting gets into full swing, if not, modders that have already got video's uploads from before the site switched over will have an unfair advantage over other modder's that arn't yet able to showcase their video's.......:(
