Halloween has passed but this little odd game project is still going. New version is v. 1.2.1. Uninstall the old version and then install this one.
v. 1.2.1 is here! Similar to before but with improved fog of war, pseudo fixed human collision with wall, and tweaked heuristic. Also added is a difficulty level that increases as you hit milestones, a reward/failure message system after a round, and a few sound effects. The changes to your monster's attributes shouldn't feel as random. The added difficulty makes it feel a degree closer to an actual game. Still a bit buggy, sorry.
Install is the same as last version but you must uninstall the old version. One day when I have more money I will spring for a web host and have them auto update.

Run around scaring people as your monster tot evolves theoretically better attributes attuned to your play style. Later versions will include visibly manifested attributes and characteristics. Slated for the next version is monster size, cat and demon eyes, wings, and maybe a tail! Keep checking back to see my progress. Maybe one day I will find someone to help me make sound effects and a theme track. Let me know what you think. I can handle negative criticism.
I'm still working on this idea and aim to create a final version on the Unity 3D engine. For now it is in XNA as I can get ideas out faster with that framework.
This is currently a very crude execution of the concept. There are an insane number of bugs. My goal was really to see if I could get a genetic algorithm to handle optimization of some other aspect of a game besides the player's strategy or the computer's. The game plays acceptably well despite the bugs.
To install this just download the .zip file and extract the contents to a folder of your choosing. Run the setup.exe file and follow the prompts.
