It's time for third development blog, this time we will discuss about few game features.

First a word about screenshots. Our "main rule" is to provide unedited screenshots instead creating "promotional screenshots", this means no photoshop "retouching" or enabling some "ultra shiny" effects just to take screenshot. What you see is what you get. Current screenshots do not include finalized light, decals or texture/shaders improvements, so things will only get better.

First feature we will talk about is our "hallucination control system", by taking certain medicine (or mixing them up) will increase specified type of hallucination which allows too see/hear/trigger certain things that otherwise would remain as secret. You should not extend hallucination state too long but it's up to you how much you are willing sacrifice, eventually things will take to turn to worse and some choices might result into unwanted gruesome faiths, not necessary directly to you.

Choices you make while playing the game will not affect only your character, other patients stories will be dynamically updated depending on your actions.

Freedom is something we want to stress with game design, player is able to interact with multiple objects even if they don't serve any purpose towards finishing the game. Exploring the hospital and paying attention to smaller details will reveal more about the history itself and otherwise hidden content.

As we have mentioned before game is about exploring and we try our very best to support that fact with freedom to do just that. Certain doors locked but there is always good reason for it which is not "door is locked since we thought it's fun to search those keys all over hospital running back and forth".

While we wont reveal much about the story yet, I can say that we were inspired by the following psychology experiments: "Hofling hospital experiment", "Rosenhan experiment", "Milgram experiment", "The Russian Sleep experiment" and "The Asch conformity experiments".

For you guys using Unity, hopefully this is a decent place to post this! We at Defective Studios just released a utility for Unity that is now for sale on the Asset Store. It is really useful for merging scenes and objects in Unity if you are on a team.

The advantages of Unity are: +You can build for nearly all major plattforms +Easy to learn +Great assets pipeline, which supports most 3D packages +Great and helpful community and hundreds of useful tutorials +Good documentation +A big fund as backbone.
