The POWER 3D Engine is the engine powering the Pie in the Sky 3D Game Creation System toolkit from the '90s. It is a basic FPS engine compiled for DOS16, and uses real mode. It does not function under Win16, Win32 or Win64.

Graphical Features:

  • 45 degree walls
  • Flat shaded platforms of fixed specified height
  • 2D Noise filler for ground or sky
  • Paintable viewport
  • Easily customizable through FLUID .TXT files
  • Fog table
  • Animated sprites and walls
  • Scrolling floor and ceiling textures
  • Controllable light levels
  • Fast 60FPS framerate on most machines

It was a popular engine for many obscure shareware titles like Despair!, Colloso and ChubGam 3D. It also powered the commercial titles Lethal Tender and Terminal Terror (prior to release of the GCS toolkit)

NOTE: this ONLY covers the original DOS engine! NOT the later 2.x and 3.x revisions for Windows.

You go in a time machine to 1995-96 then send Pie your $69.95 through the mail.

I'm not sure what Pie will do with this engine now. It's far too limited to convince a sale these days especially since there's free engines that give more overall everything in every aspects that exist. FPS Creator fills the gap this engine once held (and does it terrible with its slug of an engine)
