This engine is the code behind "The game Creator's" FPS Creator development tool, A powerful, yet rough FPS engine. The engine features:

  • A fully working physics system
  • Lighting effects
  • modifiable AI files
  • Model importing ability
  • Multi player deathmatch
  • many stock media files
  • and many more purchasable model packs

While the engine is still rough around the edges, it's being constantly upgraded and improved by it's development team, who aims to squish and destroy as many bugs as possible, and create a powerful, professional, game development tool.

Greetings, my name is James and I have previously worked on a few horror games. Instead of explaining in detail, I'll simply post a few links below so that you can judge for yourselves.

  • Purgatory, my first real game, being played by Markiplier
  • Dead Point, my second game, to which I abandoned.

I've made a lot of mistakes in the past and have taken a lot from them and I am now hoping to create something new and exciting! I am currently working on a survival horror game inspired by the old Resident Evil and Silent Hill games. Whilst the title is still very early in production (not even a freaking title yet) I believe it is going to be something special. I'm hoping to go back to the roots of what made those old experiences so much fun, and to hopefully ditch any of the new "5 Nights at Every New Horror Game" scares along the way.

Keep checking this space!

On a final note, I am looking for a level designer so if you are interested, check out my thread.

The engine was reat, only if you know how to use it and utilize it. am new to fpsc but I can say it is really good. I am using fpsc x10, and bought some model packs and some are gift from my friends, everything is working fine. Model pack 6 and 9 also do not have a problem with me. The only model pack that have a problem with me is the legendary mp 53 it was a gift from a friend of mine. Actually the mp 53 is working, the only problem is that crosshairs and ironsights are not working. By the way, don't say that fpsc sucks, cause if you will look in our forums. I am sure you will find lots of quality work there specially in the WIP section, x9 or x10 both are good, just know how to use it well. It's like any other engine, if you don't know how to utilize it, it won't work for you nor can create a good game out of it. It may not be powerful for you, but for others it is.

Yh, I have been looking in the forums, some of them are very helpful, but some are as useless as a chocolate teapot (not that it has any relevance) I am running into several minor bugs which cannot seemto be fixed, best left to be ignored, Im only a beginner, plus I wish the scripting is as easy as TES III: Morrowind's Scripts :P I can understand them. Just give me some time and I'll feel like an old war veteran in this sort of thing XD

Also I used the Mapmaker on a game called TimeSplitters Future Perfect on the consoles, that was pretty much an FPS maker, this is slightly more advanced but very fun. A message to people who can't get the hang of FPSC should try the Mapmakers on TimeSplitters 2 or TimeSplitters Future Perfect on Original Xbox, PS2 or Nintendo GameCube, that would be a great starting point for people before they try this. FPSC FTW! XD

I had the same problem before I figured out FPSC was a **** engine for anything other than a hobby game. Its caused by one of the model packs, 6 or 9 I think it was, that have problems with the engine. If you really want to make a good game, I would suggest you just switch over to UDK(Unreal Development Kit)Which I find is good for my needs), wait for ID4 source code to come out(Doom 3 sure looks good),wait for the Cryengine 3 Development Kit to come out, or switch to Source Development Kit (SDK) Which I find is a big pain in the *** to learn how to convert files into .mdl files for game models, but was simple after the first few times.

This engine is only limited by the user. I recommend this if you want to teach yourself programming. It's always best to learn by hours of frustration, other than days of no work at all. This engine was bad enough to give a 10/10. Hooray.
