The new, more complete and less-bugged version of my Warhammer 40k lore mod.
Extract to main Retribution folder.

This is a new release of the mod, including a lot of balance fixes and some new units.
Extract to your main Dow2 folder. This mod may require you to have your texture settings on Ultra.
I'll be posting race guides on the "tutorial" secion of this site.
Run by using the astartes.bat . This should be playable with other people having the same mod online, and I tested all races, they work and AI builds units. I had no other mods installed at time of testing.
Tau are still work in progress, but now they are a bit more powerful and hopefully up for more challanges.
It appears that the same Space Marine issue is present for me. I can't launch a Skirmish with any Space Marine army without it crashing. Any ideas?
(It is a clean install of Retribution also).
Do you got any other mods?

I checked all 3 space marine commanders and they work. The problem is on your end I'm afraid.
had the same problem with the last release along with a few other mods, it ended up being a problem with my graphics settings being set too low.
I'm afraid it only works with Ultra high texture settings.
So, correct me if i'm wrong, if we don't, or can't set textures on Ultra, we can't play it? Well unfortunately i can't set my textures any higher than 'Medium', the game won't let me go any higher, for some reason. You would think that would be an issue to at least try to fix, for the sake of people (Like myself)forced to use a low-end PC.
The problem is, I'm not sure what causes the issue. I think it may be some models, but I'm not sure.
What I'll do tomorrow is totally uninstall Retribution, and clear the directory and reinstall it and the mod. But from memory and checking, there's no other mods as I did do a clean install a few weeks ago to see if it'd cure this problem before.
I have seen other people have this issue, but again, I'll try this all out and see how it goes and if I have any success, I'll be sure to let you know!
Maybe you need the textures to be put on ultra high. Not sure if that helps, but its worth a try!

Okay, right! I did change the texture quality before uninstalling everything and that did indeed fix the problem! :D
That seems like an odd bug though; having to have your setting higher than usual to get the mod working, but nonetheless, I got it to work!

Really a great mod, which gets better and better. The predator and land raider lascannons not firing animation bug is fixed for me. I'm so glad for that, thanks heaps!
Thank you! It was caused by the mod packing tool actually not packing some files. I had to change its settings to includede these file types , and now it works.
Will this work with a non steam version?
No idea. For some reason my mod is a bit temperamental. Like it requires ulta high textures for some reason.

ok I installed it but get it running to the steam dev mode thing or what not, Im having problems with most of these mods for DoW,CR, & Ret do to me having non steam version of games (long story) Now i've been able install a couple of mods already with no problem since i didnt need to dev command instructions but when i run this off the bat like instructed it takes me to my steam account in which games not in any ideas?

Would you Redo the AI please cos for some reason they keep gathering at my base for some reason in midgame after about 10 to 15 minutes, my allies I mean. Could you please fix that? Other than that great mod :D

The Beta downloaded without any hassles, idk what the prob is with gamma?

No, you can not. There are other mods that increase the pop cap out there.

I can't seem to get it to run. Whenever I launch the game, it crashes immediately. I did the standard messing around with compatibility options and running as admin and such, but nothing.
Were your settings Ultra high? Did you install it properly? Do you got any other mods?
All settings on Ultra, installed it fine and no other mods. I will continue tinkering, I am sure I will get it eventually.
