It will extract all the files needed to play the modification on your computer.
This modification requires any version of Company of Heroes (including Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor) to be installed on your computer. You will also have to patch it to the latest online version (done automatically when starting Company of Heroes).
To INSTALL The Great War 1918 v1.0 follow these steps:
1) download the tgw1918_v1_0.exe
A torrent can also be downloaded here and here.
2) once the download is completed, double-click on tgw1918_v1_0.exe to start the extraction
2a) you will be asked for a destination folder; this must be your COMPANY OF HEROES directory!
For those who have Company of Heroes installed on Steam, your directory will look like this:
"c:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes"
2b) once you have entered your Company of Heroes directory under "destination folder", click "extract"
3) once the extraction is finished, you can start playing by double clicking on The Great War 1918 shortcut found on your desktop. Enjoy the mud and rats!

Ok, hold that thought. May have perhaps found a solution....
Alright. So, I inspected my folder again. For some reason it had absolutely no folders inside anymore. Singular files were still present, but a lack of folders would explain why I exclusively got errors.
I have absolutely no idea how this happened, because when I clicked the "open containing folder" from the shortcut yesterday it displayed full data including folders - I am 100% sure of that. I had also reinstalled it before, meaning it was giving me this situation twice, most likely. Really, really weird.
So it works now that I manually placed the TGW files there, though. From what it appears it seems like either my PC or the installer tried to troll me....

Seems abit pinickity, but please make the Union Flag fly the right way up, it's rather frustrating seeing it upside down like a retarded child.
Thanks for this great mod, i love ww1. But i have also a question: Does the gas has any effect ? Because i didnt saw any unit die through gas, there only stands they are poisened but that was it. (Sry for bad english or grammar, as you can read its not my mothertongue ;) )
Hi!
There are different gas attacks with different effect. The one you encountered does no damage to infantry but disabled them.
If you want infantry die through gas try Green cross or white star.
