The Fourth Age: Total War - The Dominion of Men is a full-conversion & fully modfoldered modification for Rome: Total War - Barbarian Invasion 1.6. Inspired solely by the written works of J.R.R. Tolkien, it seeks to reflect both the spirit and lore of Middle-earth as Tolkien saw it. The mod is fully stable, feature-rich, innovative, thoroughly balanced, and conforms to the highest standards of both graphical and coding quality. This is the full release. The Dominion of Men (FATW 3.0) supercedes all previous releases of the Fourth Age series of mods.

Uh hey um I cant run on moddb so if you could get a mirror link to gamefront when you get the chance that would be great or does it work differently, I'm new to all this modding stuff.
I didn't know some had problems downloading from Moddb. We will provide a link to a zipped version for those who have problems with the installer. We will host it somewhere other than Moddb (though not Gamefront as they are not reliable).
I'm still having problems downloading the mod. The mod db doesn't work, so I tried the file host on DepositFiles, but the link doesn't seem to work. Anywhere else I can download the rar?
The RAR is not hosted anywhere else. Are you sure this does not work: Dfiles.eu
For some reason the one you just provided works fine. The one at twcenter takes you to a log in page, and even if you have an account just to your personal page. Thanks for reposting the link! Looking forward to playing.

I have donwloaded the mod and i changed the location of the instalation into my steam rome total war folder, but i just clicked the overall rome folder, is there a specific place i need to put it, It does not work it comes up with an error when i run it :( is there a way to fix it
The error reads "Script Error in bi/fatw/data/descr_sm_factions.txt, at line 113, column 1. "horde_min_units": This feature is not supported" if that helps at all
You need to launch the mod via Steam - the desktop shortcut isn't for Steam users. Instructions are on the Announcement page on our forums at Twcenter.net

Awesome, grats on the full release. Only question I have is, are we not able to use settlements on custom battles?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to have settlements in custom battles. No idea as to why, I am afraid, but none of the custom maps in the mod have the ability to put settlements there toggled.

is there any difrenses in instaling on steam? i just pick the the rome folder in steam and install? or do i instal the rome alexander folder?

I get a strange glitch when i go to start a campaign it says "please select an item from the list" in a box with no option but to click the check button and it brings me back to the main menu

This usually happens when the has been installed in the wrong place, or the installation has been a bit messed up.
First I'd check that the FATW folder is in the right place, if it is then making sure your download is complete and reinstalling might do it. If not, maybe try a clean install of RTW.
If the folder isn't in the right location then just move it to the correct place.
SO whats next for you guys now? you moving on to another game to mod or you disbanding?
Well MoN and Aradan are retired, so the team is down to two now. Will keep making custom settlements for this as long as the interest is there, then I guess we all move on to something else.
I can't play the game because when I try to play a campaign it brings up this scroll that I can't click the check because my start menu is in the way. how do you fullscreen?
remove the -ne from the shortcut command line/steam launch options. This may not work on newer systems, though it seems fine for some people.
Me and my friends would like this mod, but none of us can download from moddb. I know you said you don't care for Gamefront, but maybe you could reconsider.

Have you read the installation instructions? This error is listed in the troubleshooter section. You are probably trying to run the mod through the shortcut (which is not for Steam users) rather than the Steam launcher. See the instructions for details.

Quoting the Installation Instructions:
"NOTE: THIS MOD RUNS IN WINDOWED MODE. Some few versions of the game may work without windowed mode being active. You can deactivate it by removing the "-ne" from the launch options/target line.
When you first run the mod you may find the window doesn't fill all of your desktop. This is easily remedied by going into the video settings of the mod and setting your battlemap and campaign resolutions to the same resolution as your desktop. (this can also be done by going into your preferences.txt file (found in the fatw/preferences folder) and changing battle_resolution and campaign_resolution to the same values as your desktop)."

Wherever you want. Then run the installer and point it to your rome total war directory (this will be different if it is the steam version or the disk version).
any new updates on how to install this mod please?

What issues are you having? The download and installation is extremely straight forward and the instructions are quite thorough. There are also screenshots for Steam users and even a Starter Guide on our website for launching in Steam.
