Hey i found a bug when trying to extract files, It said "The archive is either in unknown format or damaged
Really? Well you can always go to the site I said in the description, the actual SMOD forum and such, and get the stuff from there.
I've installed, but I'm getting a steam API error.

Whenever I try to start the game it says it's missing the map, the only map I can get to work is the start of black mesa. I have all the Half-Life games installed, how do I go about fixing this?

Allow me to clarify for spedos.
What spedos meant is that this is a HL2 mod, not a HL1 mod. thevordutron said they had all the Half-Life games installed, and it only works at the very start of the chapter "Black Mesa".
Black Mesa is not a chapter in Half-Life 2, that is a chapter in Half-Life 1. That implies vordutron attempted to install SMOD with the first Half-Life, when SMOD is strictly a Half-Life 2 mod.
spedos22 may not have felt anymore information was necessary than "HL2 Mod", since it answers why thevordutron had a missing map error.

Just add all the hl2 maps in the mod!

not really since i tried, you need to add the scripted sequences, voices, scripts and all
Are you talking about Black mesa east? You have to copy the map files from hl2 and put them in the SMOD maps. And if it was on half life 1 well its a hl2 mod

Wont open Any fix ive wanted to play smod for years but all of the files dont work

put it in your sourcemods folder in the steamapps folder, in your Steam install directory.

You can check in the file description. You know, all that text above the "DOWNLOAD NOW!" button.
Under "Category" it says, "Full Version", which means this is the latest version of the mod, not a patch.
hm... i have a problem about this mod when i turn on cheats and i type impulse 101 the weapons just explode and you cant grab it and i get weapons that are working Please fix this mod again because when ever i do impulse 101 and then Proof! you wont grab it.. Please fix it so there are grabable

sooo uhhhh i look around it nowhere it said Where to install it so i took the liberty to tell you just make a "custom" folder in your HL2 folder the in the hl2 folder make a "mods" folder then extract the rar into that folder then you are good to go i've test this using the "Half-Life 2 update" addon/mod from steam
but you don't have to use that mod in encourage you use the original hl2

youre supposed to put it in the sourcemods folder in your steam directory. but if that works, that works

As clockworkreaper said, it really goes in the "sourcemods" folder in the Steam directory. This applies to all Half-Life 2 mods unless stated otherwise.
what source sdk do i need
What the ****,some levels don't even load exiting the new game tab and going to main menu they don't have a loading screen and the levels that even work don't have level transictions,please help me.

Can you install without steam?
go to hl2 in the half life 2 folder create a new folder named "custom"
put the files in the "custom" folder
you need to have Steam to install this.

I've had an issue at the very beginning, when a bunch of citizens were blocking the passage. Propped myself over them with a baggage case and proceeded further. After that, no such bugs.
Well, except for one. Random savefile corruption that will cause crashes. Thus forcing you to either use an earlier savefile, or start the whole level again. Kinda sucks, happened to me three times already, last time being during the boat levels. Kinda killed the mood for me to play it any further.
I didn't like the minichapter that happens during the boat stage of the game, especially since the temporary vehicle is really prone to getting stuck in many places.
Either way, fun mod to try out :)

How to properly install SMOD (Tactical [1.0, Redux, 5.56, ProjectLifev2]) to prevent texture errors and crashes
1. Run Half-life 2 (and other required games for [whatever SMOD you're installing]) and Source SDK Base 2006 if you haven't already (AT LEAST ONCE!).
2. Unpack the [whatever SMOD you're installing].rar wherever you want.
*3a. Install "SMODStandalone_install.exe" and "SMODStandalone_CSS_addon.exe" from the official forums: Bsnooch.com
3b. Move the "SMODStandalone_install.exe" and "SMODStandalone_CSS_addon.exe" into your sourcemods folder
*If there is not a folder there already, create one called "sourcemods". -- Path --> C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/sourcemods
4. Run the SMODStandalone_install.exe and follow its instructions until it finishes.
5. Run the SMODStandalone_CSS_addon.exe and follow its instructions.
*5a. To fix any texture/asset issues, it is recommended to OVERWRITE the files in the Smod Standalone's CSSBase (*that you had just installed) with the CSSBase from the Redux: Moddb.com
*5b. You may also then apply an additional texture fix provided by user Onemanshow to address the issue where "Valve updated CSS to use orange box engine, they also added some detail textures from EP2 that don't work in the 2006 engine due to VTF version crap.":

6. Navigate to the newly created SMOD folder under sourcemods, and then to the mods folder. -- Path --> C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/sourcemods/Smod Standalone/mods
7. Extract the "[whatever SMOD you're installing].rar" into the mods folder.
8. Run the "Smod Stanalone.exe" to launch the game and test it. Feel free to make a shortcut to this file, as it will be how you launch the game from here on.
9. That's it!

Anyone know how to fix this script? The map where I approach Nova Prospekt block D-7, there are two guards in the control room. I kill the two, and I can't find the third. Because of this, Alyx doesn't think I cleaned out the place and she doesn't attempt to hack the fields or reprogram the turrets, and Overwatch doesn't realize I'm there.
I got around the room using the physgun and got to D8 with her playing through seeing Mossman playing traitor while I'm holding out in D-8, but she is stuck typing on a console. Moving to the last map in Entanglement doesn't make her follow me.

I can't seem to get the mod to run. I put it in my "sourcemods" folder, but when I try to run it, it simply refuses to start. Anyone know a fix for this?
