Beta 3 is another step towards the goal of SimMars. Most main game functions and buildings have been replaced and the mod plays fairly well now. However, it is still a beta and hence unfinished. Not everything is replaced yet or fully functional.
SimMars will install and play completely separate from your SimCity 4 installation.
SimMars Beta 3 additions since last release:
- 180 new BATs (buildings) of all types
- new highway, rail, subway, elevated rail, toll booths and spaceport.
- SimMars game launcher: Beta 3 launches individually from SimCity 4 (see installation notes below)
- new User-Interface graphics
- new disaster (Blow-Out, replaces fire)
- 5 new music tracks
- the first few automata models
- new ordinances
- transformed news items
Main goals for the next release are:
- creating and modding new automata models (vehicles)
- implementing NAM elements (Network Add-on Mod)
- replacing avenue and one way texture

an issue with the Mars Face landmark has been detected, the model file is missing. Easy fix: Download the below file and place into /My Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins_SIMMARS/+Landmarks/SM_LM_MarsFace

How do you install this? i've placed it in the plugins folder and it's done nothing.
this isnt supposed to be placed into the plugins folder. it comes with an installer. please follow the info in the readme, it's all in there.
ooh. important question. Does this one have a water filter system? as the Beta 2 didn't and it always annoyed my advisors.

I have aa problem with Sim Mars: My Sim City 4 paste is in D:/Maxis/Sim City 4 and every time the sim mars open it crash and automatically closes... Please help me this mod is incredible!
why made me see things as brown package?
I don't know if this mod is dead, but it appears to have issues with Sim City 4 Deluxe when it is installed through steam. It refuses to launch, no error message given.

Excuse me, but could you 'remove' the mod after installing? Like, able to go back to un-modded Simcity? Also, sorry if this is a stupid question, but is the mod compatible with the NAM mod? Thanks!

I currently had the game installed and am in the process of adding Farms to this mod. and a command center and some residenatal lots as well. my work is all over on Simtropolis where this project began. I helped get beta 2 back off the ground before RL took over. I have peeps over there asking when a new release would come out to support the NAM.. Can you give me an update i can pass along?
