Hi Guys! I've recently resumed playing & coding a little in bfme and decided to play again my favorite mod. This reminded me of some annoying bugs in WoTR related to Arnor Heroes. I've fixed them and decided to release bugfix here, so everyone can enjoy stable atleast little more stuff.

My friend and I managed to fix the WotR Preview and added cool maps. Or better ones for current ones. And problem is, I debated whether or not to upload it. I think it's best if you asked and got permission from at least one of the team members. My friend gave me permission to fix it, but I just didn't bother lol
Anyways, I would upload it here, the problem for it is: I'd have to upload all my map files from the "roaming/appdata/local/rise of the witch king" blah blah blah map folder (and I have a LOT of maps that aren't even part of the fix) but it does work, and the problem about uploading it is, I'd need permission from every mapper I downloaded those maps from. And that's a couple 100 modders. But yeah, please fix it for the other players.

do it do it naow. plzplz always wanted a wotr where I could besiege moria, capture amon hen, and other well known lotr cities and places that're not in the game. Dunno if it's fixed lol. Atleast the last time i tried to play wotr on rj rotwk all the custom maps were near-harad

Post it as an unofficial add-on. In all honestly I don't think the creator of this is coming back and maintaining this as a result is up to us.

P.S. Give credit to the mappers in the patch when you upload as well and I would also say unless they are part of an active mod now as long as you credit them I doubt they will complain.

I have noticed that the Rivendell faction does not have actually have any floodgates and can't use the power even after buying the flood upgrade. Also, for some reason, the upgrade for Lothlorien with the guards on the fortress implements elven warriors instead of Galadhrim.

First of All I want to say this is by far the best mod out there for this game and I'm glad to see there's a community still working on this game.

I tested the game (yes I'm a little late) so far no problems except that in the War of the ring mode when fighting on the Minas Tirith tile, some other desert haradrim map loads instead of the Minas Tirith map. I'm not sure if that's on purpose or not just thought I'd mention it here. I'll see if I can just fix it for myself for now.

On another note some unit icons aren't of the quality they could be compared to other units. I could probably help with any designs you might need just message me.

Ok the problem is easy to fix. It's in livingworldregionsrjnew.inc you just have to correct the string where it says "Map name". A lot of the new maps are using the map "WOR Harad".

Hi Tohka, I downloaded the bugfix and i was playing a network map game 3 vs 5 brutal, but I still got game crashed. I don't mean to offend but this is the same type of crash I would always get in the past whenever I tried playing long games with this mod (usually when I'm up against many brutals the game would crash as I recall in the past) RJ RotWK is by far the most well done mod in this community (excluding Edain because i can't read German), but sadly I don't think I can play this mod if I get unexpected crashes. I appreciate you bringing this mod back up and fixing some bugs, but I believe it's most important that you fix this crash otherwise I don't see how people can play this mod

Here's a list of bugs I've ecountered so far:

-Opponents being able to walk through walls.
-Arnor wall hubs has a lot less hitpoints than the walls themself.
-AI seems to only aim for wall hubs when pushing through walls.
-AI REALLY loves catapults end-game.
-When using Arnor faction in War of the Ring gamemode, one of the faction heroes tends to duplicate themself on board, crashing the whole game in later stages.
-Not really a bug, but a lot of missing icons and missing tooltips.
-AI usually freezes when selected as one of the new factions.
-When calling from aid from Mirkwood/Rivendell, it takes way too long time to be able to actually produce the units.
-When playing against AI (Especially evil factions) this random ability strike appears, locking both allied and enemy players with some kind of red cripple strike, making them immobible for 5-10 seconds.
-Playing as elves, you're able to produce up to 9 elite units, which should be limited to just 3. (Rivendell elites, Mirkwood elites, and Lorien elites.)
-At some occations builders are invincible.
-Actions log (The text that appears on the upper right corner saying for example your barracks is complete, sometimes shows the wrong message. (For example when playing as Arnor, and you purchase the upgrade "Ally with the Elves of Middle-Earth", it will appear as "Ally with the Dunedain completed." in the action log and vice versa.)
-When playing as Mordor, and upgrading your Nazguls with Felbeasts, you have to have them die first, before being able to upgrade to Felbeasts.
- Elven Warriors on Rohan Faction won't get the Banner Carrier upgrade from Armory.

hey man u would really make me happy if u could edit also the war of the ring mode, no ones touch it and I'd like to have more variety in colors and more than two teams, not to mention the fact that we could make more heroes to conquest and not just the 4 of the beggining! Thanks dude!;) Hope it is not asking too much

The big bug I've noticed is that the Men of the East and Elf factions has trouble in Skirmish mode. Something about the having sub-factions makes them only chose one every time and barely send out units if at all

Would LOVE to see all the "WIP" placeholders finally replaced with what they were intended to become.

Also could you place all the gamedata attributes into the notepad format, I was only able to play balance what he added into that format... unless someone has made an stat editor for the game since I last played.

I hope to see your bugfix become a full mod add-on and finally complete this epic mod!

Sweeeeeeeeeeet. You should totally post this as a news topic on the RJ-forums. =D There has been some discussion about the mapping side of WotR. There are quality maps and mapmakers already waiting for someone to get the maps coded in properly.

Lovely to see that this mod is still alive, and I can't tell you how much I love the fix for the Elves in WotR, god I can have so much more fun! Now all that I miss are the Greenwood structures and some portraits to the W.I.P units for my ultimate Restoration of Greenwood experience :D

Oh and for the suggestion/ideas part, well obviously the things written above, and possibly make it so that the mod is available in the editor, I don't know how hard or if it's even possible, but it would mean the world to me <3

Suggestions:

-I'd really love to see Azog a tad more buffet (and bigger!)
-Make all units of the same name be able to combine to a larger unit. (Currently this doesn't work for some higher tier rangers.)
-Remove the ability to combine ranger and melee units, as these doesn't function properly in combat.
-I'd love to see the "Dunedain Captian" unit from Arnor with more abilities. (Right now it has none.)
-Like previous people before me has said; finish off characters, tooltips, and icons.

This is what I can come up with right now, I'll update if more comes up :)

I really appreciate the work you have done with this mod, I've really had a great deal of good hours with my friends on this game.

Things i would like to see are

1) All heroes that are missing an ability given some sort of ability
2) Is it possible to create a lvl 30 power even if its something silly like summon a few batallions
3) Make all factions have the same amount of heroes
4) When you play through the wotr campaign on certain maps when you right click you get a blaring red screen then it goes away until you right click again
5) Maybe for the sub-factions also make mirkwood playable
6) When using the inn alliance system make it finally add those heroes at the intended lvl right now it does nothing at lvl 10

Other than that this is easily the most amazing mod i have ever seen created and the detail you put into the elf faction is just incredible keep up the good work.

Also noticed that the super mordor orcs that look like uruk-hai either have way to much hp or armor and do way to much damage. 3 batallions of them can single handedly wipe out an army and an army of heroes

Does anybody know how to use mod files in the worldbuilder or make it so that the objects you can use in the worldbuilder is RJ's mod objects with all the modifications and not the vanilla objects? (As in MotE units and structures for example) I found something that could work but from what I've read it only works for bfme2 worldbuilder and not rotwk, I may have misunderstood it so I'll paste a link down below to what I mean so that maybe somebody could explain it to me or atleast state their thoughts about it here. The3rdage.net

I really want to make some scenarios with RJ's changes; Units, models, annimations, powers, heroes, etc. and I've searched for how to use mod files in the worldbuilder for over a month with no success hence this comment to look for answers from you guys. It would really mean the world to me if I could play around with RJ's mod inside the editor.

Hey, i am soon going to play the RJ mod with some of my friends, so i decided to try and fix some bugs. (I am not a coder or anything, just logical thinking!)

So here is what i did to fix the arnor Dunedain archers combined horde longshot (arrow drop):

I'm having some issues installing the patch. The mod and base game work just fine, but when i copy the patch data into the mod data and then try to play the patched mod it crashes. I've tried re-downloading reinstalling and everything else i could think of but i still can't get the patch to work, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I found bugs in Rohan, Arnor and Men of the East factions.

In Rohan there are several problems with the banner carrier upgrades. Elves cannot get the upgrade, and new units produced after the puchase of the BCU they are not able to get it by the blacksmith.

In Arnor the Elite Royal Calvary can only sumon 1 batallion, and as far as I know are 3 elite batallions per faction.

In the MotE faction there is a problem getting the fire arrows upgrade. I cannot purchase them, the description says to level up the blacksmith to level 3, but even if it is leveled up I cannot get the fire arrows.

I found a new glitch with MotE-AI in Skirmish mode, they build their walls all around their camp but they never place a gate, so they produce units but they are never able to get out of their base, until I arrive with a siege unit and break one of the walls (this incident was in the Minas Tirith map, I think it was a custom map, I still have to verify if they do the same in other maps), I fear it will be the same with Rohan, Arnor and the Elves which are the "add-on" factions created by RJ.
