Description
This is the release of RotU v2.00 beta. It is beta in a way that not yet all features are complete (especially classes), and there will be bugs. If you find any, please report them on coddev.net. This package is meant for hosting purposes, however you can play SP/LAN is you follow the instructions or you can wait for a later release which will have an installer and a create server menu.

I thought I'd give this a shot, but it is unplayable. The one server running it has a ping of about 200+ for me (I live on the West Coast of the US)and it will not let me join as my ping is too high.

I have it worse; I'm Australia so any server I CAN connect to is very high ping, the rest of the time a message says "Key Code in use. Try again later"
Anyone know what that means?
It should also allow single player mode; you VS a whole lot of zombie madness.

It means that you've either given the same key you use to a mate, your using a pirated version or the code has been generated or duplicated.

Ahh ! Try this, play as the developer, devmap mp_(map name). I didn't try that but i tested it on Galactic Warfare.

I tried connecting but connection timed out. Im using version 1.8.
I wonder when we can get a LAN/SP version up and running without having to host our own server :/
You seem to have misunderstood. Just follow these three simple steps:
1. Download the mod and place it in your modfolder
2. Exec startmod.bat
3. Open console type map mp_surv_... (make sure you have the map)
And you're done, LAN/SP version will be different in a way that there wil be an installer and a create server menu.
I play on a Mac, so .bats don't do anything :/
It just loads the mod, executes the config and turns off punkbuster. You can do all this without the .bat. Open it with a text editor to check the command line.
Mr.Noob here again, where do I place the maps exactly?

Hello Bipo , I downloaded this mod and played it with my friends . I used map mp_surv..... and it worked but I wanted to increase the Zombie Number to like 50 instead of 15 . I have a Mac so I can't run startmod.bat .
How do i host a Lan server?

I dont like the new classes, buying weapons its weird and you should be able to play the olds maps.
The new classes are better balanced in the new version if you apply your skill points.
Didn't like the new weapon upgrade system so on our server we are using the old style.
Most of the old maps do work but there are problems with the zombies glitching through walls, floors, midair etc.
Overall much improved over last version.

hi ninzalong only modify this two command and you'll get much more zombies, this is on server config
set surv_zombies_perplayer 10
set surv_zombies_perwave 5
i used 15 and 10 respectively and get double of zombies than before.hope this help you
This mod is great, so many ppl love playing in my server,
although there are some bugs.
Anyway Im waiting for the full version on that.

I've looked at guides on youtube how to downgrade to 1.7 but my steam game keeps automatically updating to 18.5
Hi, I got game version 1.7 on my game server and I uploaded the v2 files to my game server mods folder what do I do now? And where do I put the maps?
The maps go in your cod4 directory in the usermaps folder.
Then your command line should look something like this
+set fs_savepath c:(your gamepath goes here) +set net_ip (yours) +set net_port 28960 +set dedicated 1 +set ui_maxclients 64 +set sv_maxclients 64 +set fs_game Mods/rotu2beta +exec server.cfg +set sv_punkbuster 0 +map_rotate

I only just gt the mod to work (1.5) but because i live out in outback Australia, I have a extremely bad internet connection. I am unable to join the rotu 2 servers. I was wandering when is the full release and or is there a release for sp/lan.

Put this in your server config to turn on infection.

Just a warning there are bugs with the infection on.
