From the garbage/bar, I decided to go back to the Cordon to resupply. Now I cant leave the Cordon (?)
It says I need a map or guide to continue...
I tried the underground lab paths, but theres a coded door that is blocking my way (Borland standing there, but wont speak).
How do I get back to the garbage?

Sorry but I haven't got that far yet, I'm rewriting the translation as I go and I'm still in the Cordon.
Thats ok, I just reloaded from an earlier save, and never went back to the Cordon. A pity because some valuable items are there. I have finished the game, and after some good firefights it all ended rather abruptly. The machine translation was awful, so assembling the wiretaps was trial and error (as was most of the game). No freeplay Im afraid. A really good mod, but too short and needs good translation and more levels/storylines.
I've rewritten all of the Cordon dialog as well as the first lab map, But as you said the dialogue from the bar onwards is still only machine translated and very confusing at times.

Download the newer version as the option is removed and some other bugs are fixed.

I've installed the latest version of Spectrum on a fresh COP install, yet the game crashes on startup.

Anyone knows how to solve?
Seems that item_?4, the ? it's a cyrillic character and our non-russian language installed Windows can't load it.
Maybe installing russian languague on Windows?
Actually I've managed to solve that problem by simply deleting the user.ltx file that you can find in My Documents/Stalker Call of Pripyat folder. Hopefully that will fix your problem aswell. Good luck, stalker.
I have not had the same luck. Deleted C:\Users\Public\Documents\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat user file but the same crash and error.
Tried to mess using original bin folder instead the mod ones, the same.
Everything I'm doing, causes the same error :(
So... ok, kinda weird.
The "problematic" item it's "textures/item_c4*" but the "c" seems to be in cyrillic...
So when .exe it's opening, it reads ALL files in gamedata, doesn't mind if you make bak or not... So, just rename to "c" in roman alphabet and now the .exe opens the game!
Will see if this c4 doesn't get me problems ingame...

I solved it by deleting the textures\item folder and putting the one from the earlier version back in.

It's nothing to do with the user.ltx
They used a texture with a thm file included in the newer version and the texture pointed to a cryllic named thm file which isn't recognised by our OS's presumably which causes the error.

No there in the script folder and have the word news in there name, They have to be done one line at at time at the moment as I haven't got a program to do that type of file, I've done some of it and hopefully it'll all be done for the final version, I'm looking for feedback on the Cordon's rewritten dialogue if you use that part, Just stuff like whether it makes sense, does it flow naturally as if there really people who are talking to each other and I need to know if I've missed any, So if you notice anything I'd want to know about, I'd appreciate a head's up, cheer's.

The part I've played (all Cordon) it's very nice translated. Just some sort-pda messages.
I ask you because I had some experience making auto-translated scripts and was thiking about make a script for translate stalker russian mods.
Well, at least for core translation, but if there are more things than xmls could be take in care.
My idea is that you could upload zip file with file to translate, process and get the same zip with translated files.
I used some bing translator services (no Google) but think about use both, just offer an option.
What do you use for machine-translation core? manually? That's could be useful?

this russian mod of STALKER is call Way in the mist (I NOT SURE if this is a newer version,.cos there is one with the same name before this one,.and wasnt a real complete mod,..cos averyone whose play it,.just arribe to the impossible to open,. white door ,.just after open the lab door (sidorovich type bunker door) with the code 7200,.a shame cos its a brilliant work,.specially at rostock bar map)

I have to say, that this is THE best stalker game I played, well... besides the original Shadow of Chernobyl, but this game had what SOC had and COP did not- atmosphere.
The story was really good, a lot of new artifacts (they are a bit too OP though), new models, amazing Bar level... guns and their sounds were also very good (I think I saw them in Autumn Aurora 2 as well).
I played it without the translation to practise my russian I recently started learning (and it was a pain in the *** when I read first two dialogues.. and I'm Czech! :-D, but then it got better).
I hope I will see more mods by this modder group, thank you Nasha for making this mod visible to the English speaking part of Stalker fanbase.

Each time I tried to change resolution in the option menu, game crash , and funny thing , my logs crash file is not we're it is suposed to be.
Can't find the crash log or even my save files....
Nvm got it working, and pretty good mod !
Btw. to those, who haven't played this awesome mod yet, before entering the Rostok area for the first time, if your computer is not NASA strong, reduce your graphic settings to the minimum, and I also recommend switching to static lighting. After you finish something, you can change your graphics back to your previous settings.
