If you want to create your own mods, levels or other custom content for Max Payne 2 you need this toolset.
Max Payne 2 can be extended by users by creating new game environments (levels) that can contain for example new weapons, characters or sounds. Basically everything in the game is modifiable in some way. These tools will allow you to modify much of the game.

This document contains information about Max Payne 2 Technology and tools that can be used to modify Max Payne 2.
Although we encourage you to experiment making modifications to Max Payne 2, we recommend that users should be reasonably confident on how to use their PC, or have previous experience on making modifications to other games.

There are a few tools that can be used for making modifications:
MaxED 2 - Max Payne 2 Level Editor
RASMaker2 - For creating MP2M files for distributing your modifications
ParticleFX - Particle Systems Editor
KFExport - 3dsmax5 Plugins and Scripts for Max Payne 2
All of the above programs are internal tools created and used by Remedy and as such has not been tested to fulfill the requirements of commercial software. The programs are provided as is and are not supported. Use at your own risk.

You have to extract ALL of the data files to a folder, and just then use it as your database. Otherwise, MaxED will just keep telling you that it couldn't find certain files.

To anybody who has an error, install this to your directory then make a shortcut for it and leave the file in the MP2 Directory. Put the shortcut wherever you want to such as in another file or on your desktop to access it. I'm pretty sure this will work for everyone.

Ok. The solution for all the question. You must installing the full cd of Max Payne 2, with me i have a full .iso files, it will auto extract the game data to the mod dev dicrection, if you have a "not full install version" you have to use Rasmaker tool to extract data, search google-san for it, ok?. But, the sad thing that it MaxEd 2 in the mod patch it can't run in Win 7. Dear and enjoy modding this game by yourself :D
