Many incremental changes have been made since last version and some player advice has been taken. This version will also serve as the newest platform for my potential co-operators.
Homeworld 2 Complex Simple (in BIG form) Installation:
1. Extract ComplexSimple.big into the DATA folder of your Homeworld 2 game folder. For example, D:\Homeworld2\Data
2. Go to Homeworld2\Bin\Release Folder, right click on Homeworld2.exe and create a shortcut. And be sure your Homeworld 2 is already V1.1!
3. Right click the shortcut, and left click Properties, then add " -mod ComplexSimple.big -hardwarecursor -luatrace -determcompplayer" to the end of the existing line in the Target box. For example, D:\Homeworld2\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe -mod ComplexSimple.big -hardwarecursor -luatrace -determcompplayer
(Don't forget to click Apply)
****SPECIAL NOTE****
The command line above contains " -determcompplayer", this actually adds to the difficulty of AI players, making them very agile and efficient (typically, their attack groups will march without a rest, and this actually does good when you are playing large maps). If you want to play in a rather soothing pace, don't use this command.
If you want to play in widescreen mode, you can use " -w "and " -h " command. For example, if your screen resolution is 1366*768, you just need to add " -w 1366 -h 768" to the end of the command line. This trick won't change the proportion of 3D rendering, but it does stretch 2D graphics.
4. You can now play this mod via the new shortcut!
And if you have any trouble installing or playing this mod, just tell me, I'll examine the problem and come up with solutions at first time! If it crashes, immediately go to Bin\Release folder and open Hw2.log in NotePad, copy everthing inside and send to me via private message so I can analyze your problem.
Main changes from 2.1:
New ships and subsystems for Turanic Raiders and Kadeshi
New maps with one new megalith: Force Field -- capture to improve the defense shield of your fleet

New visual and sound effects for some weapons
More realistic effect for Smoke Grenades (Turanic Raider special ability)
Improved AI now knows to dock their fighters and corvettes when damaged
Fixed an issue where Enforcer and SM Queen sometimes can't open their cannon bays and fire their side cannons, these bays are now controlled manually by players themselves (like defense field).
Black Market and Arms Dealer now have team colors
Second Stage Thruster now consumes a lot of energy (only on ships that do consume energy)
A new skirmish option (in Simplex Custom game type) allows players on the same team to share their RUs (together with RU max capacity), enhancing the experience of teamwork (by exploiting your teammates...)
A new skirmish option (in Simplex Custom game type) allows CPU players to have unique names
Minor cleanups have been made to fix the bugs in research trees, starting fleets, UI and so on
Hiigaran Advanced Destroyer now has a much normaller looking as response to players' feedbacks
Some weapons and ships are tweaked
AI craziness of spamming ships is reduced in Territories game type

I am the only one? the mod makes the game very slowly in 6v6 with a i5-3570k? and a 7850?
This mod does consume a lot of computing power. You can try to reduce the crew and officer capacity in skirmish settings if your fps drop too much.
its the same thing with reduced crew...

Which map is that and is it slow all the time or just in the later part of the game?
it's in 6v6 and later part of the game...
That could happen especially when there're many Hiigaran ships. This is a problem inherited from the original Complex mod, you just have to get used to it.

I think it's the best mod we have! I didn't try this version yet but I'm sure it will be as good as gold! (Sorry to be pedantic! XD)

another great update to an awesome mod!
I encountered a little glitch on a new map.
In the map sunshine when playing against AI, an Hiigaran opponens mothership disappears. My guess is that the AI will move the mothership inside the big ring of asteroids and because of its shape it will hit one of the two rings and be destroyed.
Also, my Vaygr opponent kicked my *** by sending up to 7 or 8 hammerhead ships in my face which simply ram and blow up my ships with their nukes. Maybe a limit to their number like their Hiigaran counterpart might help?
Everything else works out perfectly and i'll say it again, this is an awesome mod!
In all the maps with Force Field, ships can get smashed when they run into the Force Field. Note that Force Field is not a ring that allows passing through, but an invisible shield in there (you'll see the shield when something hits or runs into the Force Field)! The only way to avoid collision with a Force Field, is capturing it. AI can capture Force Field too, it's just pure luck that your opponent's mothership get smashed on the Force Field, because you can make this mistake too.
About Hammerhead, one of its important role is exactly kamikaze attack and detonation of nuke. This is a balance for Vaygr since some Hiigaran capital ships have supreme health (Battle Ark and Juggernaut), fire range (Arsenel Ship and Battleship) or manoeuverablity (Vortex), hence Hammerhead is a good supplement for Vargr when coping with those overwhelming enemies. In terms of fighting against an excrutiating number of swarmers or fighters, the detonation of Hammerhead can also save the most important productional capital ships of Vaygr fleet at a crucial moment. Actually, there's no need to limit their number (although both energy and crew capacity are already existing as limits), because the more Hammerheads there are, the greater the chance of induced explosion that destroy all the Hammerheads themselves in a chain reaction! It is perhaps the easiest way to eliminate Hammerheads when they gather in large numbers! Even if they don't explode in a chain reaction, there're other ways to cope with Hammerhead, you can destroy its engine to stop its movement, or capture it to make use of it for yourself. And of course, the last thing you want to do is letting enemy Hammerhead get too close to your important productional vessels. Early warning and intercepting at a greater distance is a basic skill for playing this mod, without an acute sense of danger, you can easily get mopped up sometimes by just a few enemy ships like Hammerhead.
You are very right.
I tried moving my mothership in the middle of the asteroids but she got stuck half way. she didnt impact though. Sadly enough, the AI has the standard reaction to move the motherships in the middle, as I observed with a Vaygr opponent. A Hiigaran opponent somehow crashes theirs in the ring and thus ends the match after a few minutes.
And about the Hammerheads, you are correct as well. But taking them down before they reach me is quite a problem :p i try to intercept then but they simply destroy most of my forces in one or two explosions, leaving the other 5 or more of them to charge onwards head first into my fleet reaping destruction everywhere :p
But I'm sure there is a tactic to it :p I'll have a lot of fun finding it ;)

I have 1 question while im downloading, do ships have crazy arse speeds like 200,000. Because while it was funny in the earlier versions it was kinda silly
The possible self-propelled speed of any ship is usually no faster than 2000 (full upgrades + second stage thruster + high experience). The only way to get a funny speed like you said is being thrown out by Black Hole (technological upgrade for Hiigaran Orbital Station), this is the final secret weapon of Hiigaran and it costs 100k RUs, you have to admit defeat if you give enough time to let your oppenents finish this research and throw your capital ships all around the map...
do the Vagar have the same "endgame" research or is it hig only
Vaygr has the Mother of All Ships (100k RUs), and Hiigaran Black Hole Technology is actually designed to cope with that thing.

if you someday have alot of time i would apriciate it if you would help me.. i am trying to add a few more turrets to the vaygr mothership, using your upgrade turret "set" that builds 6 guns,(4 anti frigate guns and 2 anti fighter guns)
i am trying to make it 8 anti frigate and 2 anti fighter guns.
i have ben adding the Hod¨s and ben using your script just trying to add more guns, then pack it to a big file again.
it just wont work, nothing happens,, it still just get the normal 6 guns,.

Is it possible you can split the file into few rar parts...it takes forever for me to download this one huge file and have the file hang on me a couple of time..Really want to play this great mod. :)
If I split it in a few parts, it will be diffuclt for many new players to install.

Just DL'd the mod today; it's great btw! Love the Kadeshi. However is there a way to turn of that god awful annoying siren that plays with the given objectives? Such as entering/ leaving battle areas? REALLY ruins it >.< Might be me though, still be being a newbbb and just not noticing how to get rid of it. :')
