Many adjustments have been made. Just look at its size, this mod has certainly become very luxury!
Homeworld 2 Complex Simple (in BIG form) Installation:
1. Extract ComplexSimple.big into the DATA folder of your Homeworld 2 game folder. For example, D:\Homeworld2\Data
2. Go to Homeworld2\Bin\Release Folder, right click on Homeworld2.exe and create a shortcut. And be sure your Homeworld 2 is already V1.1!
3. Right click the shortcut, and left click Properties, then add " -mod ComplexSimple.big -hardwarecursor -luatrace -determcompplayer" to the end of the existing line in the Target box. For example, D:\Homeworld2\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe -mod ComplexSimple.big -hardwarecursor -luatrace -determcompplayer
(Don't forget to click Apply)
****SPECIAL NOTE****
The command line above contains " -determcompplayer", this actually adds to the difficulty of AI players, making them very agile and efficient (typically, their attack groups will march without a rest, and this actually does good when you are playing large maps). If you want to play in a rather soothing pace, don't use this command.
If you want to play in widescreen mode, you can use " -w "and " -h " command. For example, if your screen resolution is 1366*768, you just need to add " -w 1366 -h 768" to the end of the command line. This trick won't change the proportion of 3D rendering, but it does stretch 2D graphics.
4. You can now play this mod via the new shortcut!
And if you have any trouble installing or playing this mod, just tell me, I'll examine the problem and come up with solutions at first time! If it crashes, immediately go to Bin\Release folder and open Hw2.log in NotePad, copy everthing inside and send to me via private message so I can analyze your problem.

More new maps, some of which are trully luxury maybe even extravagant due to the super high resolution models used in them
New upgrades, one of which is Deep Space Telemetry (requires Deep Space Sensor), you certainly want to have it when you find out what it does for you
New roles for some ships, for example, Peacemaker is now some sort of battlefield engineer which can repair frigates and capital ships reletively quickly, while Command Corvette can guide JDAM (Joint Direct Attack Munition) launched from production capital ships to blow up enemy vessels from any distance (requires Target Designator upgrade, which requires Fleet Admiral rank first)
Some details about graphics and user interface have been improved, including an extremely luxury main menu...
Mobile refineries have experience now, the more experience they have, the more efficiently nearby collectors harvest
Some glithes have been fixed

This is such a good mod! I can see why it's 1gb! Definitely doesn't disappoint! Only been playing for an hour but it's a very good successor to v1.8. Should be very proud!
it had a lot to live upto though as 1.8 was stunning as it was, so this must be EPIC!

One thing I would correct is to set capital speed and manoeuvrability two or three times lower. That would look a bit more realistic. And rof of big guns a bit slower .

Something wrong with megalith textures and sentinel's body.
The game is bloody amazing' but there was one exception
After playing a game with a friend in Multiplayer, I was losing so i build the Battle Ark; and found that it was greately overpowered o.o;
The Widow Maker cannon on the bottom of it that shoots red laser 'bolts', has the repulsion effect of the Ion cannon (but 100-1000x greater), which while i admit was funny, my friend got upset in the end because of it o.o;
It ended up flinging his Command Fortress into the moon at 800m/s, he was trying to save it back he was broke on ru =/
Also besides that fact that its So damn powerful, I think the prices of the Battle Ark and Colony Station should be switched to put actual balance into it o.o;
So yeah, can you Please cut out the repulsion effect of the Widow Maker cannon, and switch the prices around? I think quite a few people can agree on this idea xD
Battle Ark is powerful, but destroying it isn't hard at all if you know what your ships can do. I can recommend a few tactics to you and your friend:
1. You can gather your firepower (especially anti-subsystem squadron like bombers) to destroy that Widow Maker
2. You can simply attack the Battle Ark from above, and Widow Maker becomes useless against you
3. Use nuclear weapons to blow up all the subsystems including the Widow Maker on the Ark, cheap and dirty
4. Super hign energy beams owned by Vaygr can destroy the Ark very quickly.
You also mentioned Orbital Station, it's quite friendly before you get the Fleet Admiral Rank, when you gain the Fleet Admiral Rank, you can upgrade it to the ultimate weapon of Hiigaran (Black Hole Technology). This design is supposed to conterbalance the ultimate weapon of Vaygr (the Mother of All Ships). If I remove it, your chance to take down the Mother of All Ships will be near zero when you meet one.
And to overcome an Orbital Station with Black Hole Technology, you can use the same tactics I mentioned above
I had the Battle Ark 10-20 minutes into the game, the Blackhole Tech costs /100,000 res, most wont Get that far' unless in a very controlled ai game >.>
The Battle Ark had just under 2mill hp, my friend had 3-4 cruisers with a small fleet of arty/flak frigates (which it obliterated, All of them)
In the end it ended up flinging the Vagyr Mothership at the moon insanely fast before it actually blew up (Note that he was litterely broke, he didnt have any res left to save it nor progress any further because that One ship that I could build in a few minutes, utterly pwned everything he had >.>
Hounestly I can say it was an unfair advantage, but I didnt cheat'
And tbh, nerfing the /repulsion effect would make it seem a Ton more realistic and quite possibly cooler xP
I can go on about the two starting ships (Crew and Research) being completely overpowered but im gonna leave That be because of the such low amount of hp they have >.>

I know your problem, you must have set a too high starting hornor point. You won't be able to build Battle Ark before you get Admiral rank, so if you want to play at a normal pace, you should set starting hornor points to Ensign or Lieutenant
And you said a Vaygr Mothership is defeated by the Ark, I could only say your Ark is very lucky, because it is the Mothership that possesses one of the most powerful weapons in Vaygr fleet -- Nuke Cannon! Vaygr Mothership can build a super long range Nuke Cannon (10000RUs), the only requirement of which is just a Fire Control Tower. If I fight against a Battle Ark with my Vaygr Mothership, the result will always turn out to be the Ark flying out of the map, instead of my Mothership.
Besides that, even you have no RUs, a mothership and many other ships could easily escape from the firing range of Ark, simply because Ark is slow

One last problem/bug that I wanna tell you is, on some maps when you put "Starting reanumiration/res: Dev/Test (11,000)" on the Moon map it'll set the rank as the highest for that, but on most other maps you'd have to upgrade the ranks, but once you upgrade the first rank the res injection minimizes back to that rank, and you cant upgrade pilots/officer moduals until you upgrade those ranks =/
Even if the option is set lower though, it'll be the same case;

I dont see sentinels body, only guns, and megalits textures is white and flashy
You won't see the texture of Sentinels beyond a certain distance, I did this to relieve the consumption of computing power, because their textures are too detailed. But I didn't do anything to the megaliths, and I've never seen the problem as you described, can you make a screenshot of the megaliths?

Animated main menu screen is amasing. How did you done it?
I happened to found I could replace xxx.TGA with xxx.anim, in which a sequence of tga images can be defined as an animation. So photoshop did the rest work.
Great Mod. I have have played 1.8 with no problems. I like to play jupiter fields map, but in 1.9 the sun has a yellow background with an orange overlay that flickers and does not completly cover the face/surface. Also at about 2 hours into the game, it freezes, the music keeps playing, but everything else is fronzen. When I go into windows task manager it says the game is not responding and there is no error log. This has happened everytime I played. Not sure what it could be. I am using Windows 7 64-bit, 8 GB of RAM, Intel i7-2600 @ 3.4 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580.
Did you save and load before it freezes? Can you send me your Hw2.log via private message after it freezes?
I am sorry, I cannot find the log, maybe I am looking in the wrong place. Could you please tell me again where the log file is. Also I did save it and loaded the game and it still freezes. Thanks
Hw2.log is located in Bin\Release folder, open it with NotePad and send everything inside to me. This log will be rewritten every time the game is launched, so you need to do this right after problem occurs.
Another question, if you don't save and load, does it still freeze? If you set all the races to only Hiigaran and only Vaygr, does it freeze in both conditions?
As far as I know, save and load can become unstable for this mod somehow.
There is no Hw2.log file generated, I checked a few times. I also played one game from start until it froze without saving, and this was one Hiigaran versus one Vaygr which again only lasted about one hour. I then played Hiigaran vs Hiigaran, one on one, and the game did not freeze, but the game play became incredibly slow (with not many ships), for me it was one mothership, one shipyard, and one each, research, crew and power ships, 6 destroyers and about 12 corvettes and 6 frigates at about 2 hours into the game. I saved the game and decided to exit to windows from the main menu, but it seemed to be stuck in some sort of loop until a minute or two, and then I finally got into my desktop, and again no log file. I went back into HW2 and reloaded the saved game and the speed of the gameplay improved dramatically. I have about 3 hours into the game with no freezes.
Does it freeze when you play Vaygr against Vaygr?

Yes I tried Vaygr versus Vaygr, one on one, and it froze about one hour into the game, I made no saves and played until it froze. The background music continues, and the mouse pointer moves, but nothing can be selected. I have to use the windows task manager to exit the program. There is no log in my Bin\Release folder, only dll files.
the full file name is Hw2.log, by default, windows doesn't recognize its file type (so the icon is not anything you're familiar with). you need to right click and open it with NotePad
When it freezes, what game year is it? You mean it only happens for Vaygr, what ships did the AI players have, and what were they doing before the problem occured? I also need to know your game settings as detailed as possible. This might help a lot.
It may be on personal terms, but 1.9 constantly crashes for me. I never managed to play for more than 30-50 minutes. Unfortunately i have no idea how to debug it - there is nothing reasonable in the logs, just an access violation that pops out of nowhere.
Besides the crashes 1.9 allays hangs if Vaygr inhibitor or cloak platforms are build. In this case nothing is written to the log (even tried to leave it for about 20 minutes before killing it). I can't tell if this is the same problem GiGo has, or another one.
Older simplex versions and other mods work fine.
Your information is very helpful! Can you describe your problem specifically? How does it crash? Does it freeze or just crash? If it just crashes, you can go to Bin\Release folder and open Hw2.log (not ErrorLog.txt) and send everything inside to me.
You mentioned building Vaygr inhibitor or cloak platforms will cause problem, do you mean AI players build them or you build them? These are new units in 1.9, so I doubt there could be something wrong with their AI. I will try to erase that part of AI in the next version. But I need more information to locate the exact problem. And is it OK when all the races are set to Hiigaran?
OK! I just found the problem! When you build Cloak Platform and Booby Trap in this version, the game freezes! The reason is that I somehow commented out addAbility(NewShipType, "CanLaunch") in their ship files. This is so stupid, what a shame! Sorry to tell you that this version is basically unplayable due to this stupid mistake. You can play 1.8T for now or just wait for my next version.
I don't mean to sound like a moron but is this a branch from the complexes mod and not the complex simple mod or is this a entirely different mod
I ask this because I have heard of the complex mod but I do not believe it is the same mod as yours
