Known issues & bugs:
Issue: Sometimes after switching very quickly between weapons the torch doesn't light up anything.
Fix: Switch to a different weapon and back
Issue: While using SSAO I can see artefacts everywhere, sometimes in the form of grain and other times I can clearly see the edges of transparent textures.
Fix: This is inherent for the Doom 3 engine and cannot be fixed. Either accept these graphical artefacts or turn of SSAO.
Issue: The game is far too dark!
Fix(es) There are many ways to fix this. You can adjust light levels using the g_brightness and g_gamma console options, or by adjusting them from the main menu. You can also adjust the ambient lighting properties, please read the sikkmod readme for more instructions about graphical issues, tweaks and performance.
Issue: Particles sometimes turn into black squares.
Fix: Save your game, restart Doom 3 and load your last saved game.
Issue: The game only runs on windows!
Fix: There currently is no version for either Linux or Mac available of Grimm, but I am planning to implement them in the future.

Issue: The game is too hard!
Fix: Play it on an easier mode, there is absolutely no shame in that whatsoever.
Grimm is harder than other games, especially on Hard. I myself have not even tested Nightmare mode but I am sure it's possible.
Can you play Grimm on nightmare mode? Make a movie on it and post it on youtube!
Issue: The game is too easy!
Fix: Play it on a harder difficulty mode, if you claim you can play it on nightmare... make a video of it and post it on youtube! :)
Issue: What is Grimm's Challenge?
Answer: It is a battle arena where you can hone your skills with the Scythe, quite addictive as well.

SO WHAT IS GRIMM QUEST FOR THE GATHERER'S KEY?

It's a fantasy hack&slash game with a lot of platforming elements that you might find in games like the Prince of Persia or Tomb Raider series, but from a First Person perspective. The world that players enter is wrought with danger. There are traps and enemies around each corner, coupled with pitfalls and abysses to cross. Cunning is often more important than quick reflexes (but those help too). The world of Grimm offers no remorse! Players will get very basic information and will have to learn how to travel this world by trial and error. Each weapon will require skill and has a learning curve. Most weapons have special attacks that can be used.

Background
Heaven and Hell are at war and have been closed off to new souls. Human souls now wander in purgatory after death, unable to go up to Heaven or descend down to Hell. The angel, Gabriel, has stolen The Grim Reaper's key of the Gatherer's Keep, the entrance to both Heaven and Hell. He is determined to fight his way through the souls in purgatory and the Demons and Angels in Heaven and in Hell to regain what is rightfully his and restore order.

Problems playing this mod in ultra mode, because of the launching method i'm unable to use RadeonPro to disable catalystAI or at lest i don't know how. :(
When you've started it once from the batch file you can also simply create a shortcut to Doom 3 and make it work that way. The batch needs to run at least once to make some important initial settings.
Make a shortcut to Doom3 and edit it to reflect this:
"yourdoom3.exe" +set fs_game grimm +set fs_basegame grimm
Now ATI should pick up the configuration and it should work!

Do you need the first alpha to play this version of do you just need this version? Also, does this version include everything that was in the first release too?
No you don't need the first, you can just download this new package and install it like a regular mode (read the readme for detailed instructions about mod installation).
It includes everything that was in the first release, other than that many things were expanded on and improved. A lot of things were temporary placeholders in that first release and a bunch of that has been replaced with original things.
I'm still working towards a stand-alone release (that will not require Doom 3 to work) but that's a lot of work and still a lot of unknowns).
was able to make radeonPro work with Grimm but now it crash's every time i pick the blue vial and also when i picked up the staff. :(
Try this:
- Delete the following file from the GRIMM folder: DoomConfig.cfg.
Start up Grimm and turn off all features like Bloom, HDR etc... see if the game still crashes when you pick up a vial. You will lose your configuration but my guess is there's something wrong there.
You don't have any other mods installed into your base folder, right?
One more question: Is there any error message that Doom throws? What kind of crash is it? The kind where windows just bombs out the program, or does Doom provide an error message?
ps: Thanks for bearing with me! It's hard to test this all on AMD hardware as I have an NVidia card myself.
Deleted the config file tried to pick the blue vial, crash to menu with the console error " ERROR: unknown ammo type 'ammo_energy' ".
Then i disabled all the highEnd features and started the last save of the game, it crashed to desktop even before any gameplay with generic windows error.
I also deleted all my other mods and this is the path to my doom 3 exe.
A:\doom\DOOM3.exe
I will try deleting the mod and installing it again.
Yes, this is definitely not an AMD issue.
In the PM I sent you there's also instructions to kill the catalyst control center automatically when Grimm starts, that will make sure that drivers don't interfere with the functionality of SikkMod.
When installing, make sure that the mod is installed into a subfolder called 'grimm' and that the subfolder doesn't contain capitol (upper case) letters. The structure should look like something this:

Sorry for the late reply found why your mod was crashing on the blue vial, it was because i add a custom ammo def on my doom 3 base folder i also edit doom 3 has a hobby i removed it, then it worked, what i find strange is why your mod would crash because of my custom def, maybe for some reason there's some naming clash on there?
Yes that's it most likely. I restart counting from 1 so there must be a conflict there. I'm glad this solved it and have fun with the Game!

I have a Problem with loading my savegames, cause my game always crashes when I load the saves. Anyone got an idea ?
I have never heard of this, I think there must be an issue with previously installed mods, or your installation itself. Most likely reinstalling a clean version of doom3, then patching to the latest version (see my previous post in this thread) and then installing a clean version of Grimm will fix it.
