The Genesis mod is an addon mod for Freelancer by Digital Anvil/Microsoft that works in Open Single Player, putting you into the game just after the original campaign has finished. Version 1.2 fixes a number of issues that surfaced after the last update

gotta say, keep it up and Genesis could be a serious competitor to Discovery and Crossfire....I despise multiplayer, mostly due to gamer's lack of maturity online and because it wasn't multiplayer that made these games popular prior to 2000...though am tempted to try your MP version once I'm familiar with everything using the OSP version.
barely into it but I'm gettin' that 'itch' to play like I used to get when FL was 1st released despite the lack of the single player story line..
did have a question about the Valkyrie and Valkyrie II...are they cloaked when you buy them? if so, how to uncloak? if not, then it might be a bug. I tried both of them but couldn't do anything beyond fly around aimlessly
No cloak in SP, i might have accidentally left in the cloak code for MP as i ripped it from that. I'll check this out. Thanks for the encouragement :) They do cloak in MP.
I left in the cloak code in the OSP version by mistake. There's an easy fix on the gizmo studios forum
OK so my first go at using any mod on Freelancer and I think I have it working v 8.75. I can spot some changes etc but am not sure what to "do" or expect to happen?
Are you supposed to start a new game? I see it will run with a save from vanilla and continue from the story line but - is there a new storyline some where or do you just go looking for new systems, bases and ships much like the original?
Always start a new game, you can't actually create a new character unless you do. It won't run with a save from vanilla as you will be missing out on a lot of custom stuff that are included with the mod. Why would you even try that?
Where is the best place to give feedback on issues? I have a few with the Armoured Transport which has forced me to crash the mod 5 times because of difficulties either landing or taking off. Even in the shipyards where you buy it .... you can't get out of the landing pad as the ship gets jammed by the doors. Often in auto landing mode the ship crashes, jams the docking bay and or misses the bay altogether and then you are stuck in the remote external camera mode with no control of the ship ... so you abort the game again. In bases where the doors open inwards they open on the bow of the transport, jamming it and flipping it over in the landing bay ... then the doors close on you. :( Lot of trouble for the big investment in it. Makes me worry if other larger ships will have troubles like this?
Otherwise I do like the game, bound to find a few "quirks" now and again.
While i agree the AT can be a bit of an awkward ship to fly, i never encountered these issues, that said i can look into it a bit more, maybe downsize the ship a little
Specifically I had troubles with the Armoured Transport at ...
- Leaving Yokohama shipyards where you buy it.
- Docking at the (Kusari) Battleship Myoko (I guess the Kusari Battleships have an awkward approach)
- Leaving the Angol Smelter ??? near Battleship Myoko.
If it was a bit shorter or that long pointy bow was shorter would probably help.
To be fair, an armoured transport shouldn't even try to dock at a Kusari Battleship, it was never designed to take that size of vessel. the Pachyderms have the same problem. You have to be realistic with the bigger ships and dock where they are supposed to be used, large stations and planets. This is why the npcs only go there with them.

At last! I get a chance to finally download and install this. :) Many thanks Gibbon. All your mods are always carefully crafted and a joy to play and Genesis looks simply great. I just wish the base game was more widely available, on GOG, Steam or something to bring in even more players. I am glad bought this when it first came out. Anyways, cheers Gibbon! /

Nothing to fix. You are trying to join the server with the singleplayer game, Of course it won't work. Download the correct 1.2MP version which is for Multiplayer
