FX v1.81
Description
FX v1.81 is the most recent version and adds several noticeable changes compared to v1.72. Click on 'read more' for more details and installation instructions.
FX v1.81 is the first English release in the v1.8x series, which is centered about code development. Naturally, v1.81 is no exception. This version features several tweaks to the Kadeshi and Progenitors, as well adds several new abilities to certain ships for all races. Some descriptions in the research or production tree show the usual '$3354' and some abilities have a few bugs but this will be fixed in the next version, v1.82, which is the debug version for all errors found in v1.81. Enjoy!
Installation:
1. Download the file
2. Open the .ZIP and run the .EXE
3. Select 'English Version'. As for directory, ensure you have your /Homeworld2 folder selected and NOT your /Homeworld2/Data folder.
4. Run the shortcut and enjoy the game.

Well just played it(i soaked for almost 3 hours) exept bad english in mision descriptions and in game talk...its great:D i almost forgot how fun was playing pirates;) eh good homeworld 1 days...
Yeah Homeworld 1 was a classic, loved the storyline and whole concept. It is a pity the whole Requiem War project for Hw2 died, but hopefully FX can be the mod to resurrect Hw1 in Hw2 style instead. Time will tell.
As for the bad english, the modders are Chinese so that would be why. There once was someone at our forum working on a 'patch' for FX that would add proper English and fix spelling/grammer mistakes but I think it died.

I cannot play with this mod. wen I start a skirmish game when the charge is complete I return imediatly on windows. No error message generated.

etienne2000 you using homeworld 2 1.1? typical problem is for such crash is you dident patch the game:)
Hey what pach should I use 2 1.1 patch or other?
There is one more problem when I wanted to install the patch 10_11 it didn't wanted to install it. When ever I try it says:
Old file not found. However, the file of the same name was found.
No update done since file contents do not match.
Please if u can help.
When i run v.1. patch it stops.It shows:old file not found. However another file with the same name is found but does not match with the file required please help me!
You running a cracked Homeworld2? Or do you have Vista installed? Those are common causes for this problem.
I suggest you visit the Technical Support section at our community and explain your problem there. We'll see if we can fix it then.

wish I found this thread earlier. I believe Vista SP 1 sorted out tis issue with Vista.
